The game brings a fresh new take on the city building/management genre by introducing many RPG features. In Towns you manage a settlement on top of an active dungeon. Instead of playing the hero who delves deep into the dungeon, how about playing the town that houses and caters to the hero's needs?

I haven't played the game since 2020, but I remember how fun it was, but unfortunately unfinished. But today I saw that the source code has been published by dev and I have now a little hope that we have in future some patches and updates, that's the only reason I recommend it now - to bring a bit of hope, this game definitely deserves it
Just get Dwarf fortress or Rimworld
get majesty or something.
After abandoning it for TWELVE YEARS, the dev released an "update" (no actual game content update, only a notification that the game's source code is now made public) and lowered the price to continue the grift. Meanwhile, after a decade, this game is outdated and outclassed by other block-by-block colony/city builders that had emerged since then. I'm not trying to be nasty, but there's nothing I can say that is as nasty as the way this game was handled from the moment it was abandoned. This game and Gnomoria are both the perfect classic examples of why you should NEVER buy early access/developing games. Until you see SUBSTANTIAL content in a game, keep your money in your wallet. Those promised updates, promised and advertised features will NEVER COME.
Fun concept when it was released. As it stands now, not worth buying even if on sale as this has been long abandoned. If you do buy this, be aware there will be NO further updates and what you see is what you get. No content will be added.
The game had a lot of potential when it first came out, and although it was quite buggy, you could see the direction it was going. Unfortunately, the game was abandoned, and all that's left is a buggy, shallow mess. It is quite a shame as this was one of the DF-like games that all came out around the same time (Gnomoria is another one that comes to mind, which although also abandoned, is a lot more feature-complete than this). This isn't as bad as Spacebase DF-9 in terms of abandonment, but pretty close. If you're interested in this game, rather look at Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld, Songs of Syx or Oxygen Not Included (depending on what part interested you the most), and you'll be much happier.
The game is abandoned. Don't buy it!
The source code has been officially released. Open-source releases with new content will be forthcoming. A purchase now is really only if you want to support the original developer.
Source Code was released - definitely a few years too late - but better late than never
I love the game! Making it open Source was the best that could happen to the project.
