TownCraft is a chill-out crafting and city-building game. Instead of just surviving, you must turn your empty plot of land and its rarely-used road into a bustling town full of shops, workers and taverns.

I do not recommend this game, since... - It is full of bugs - The developer abandoned this project (probably mid development) Therefore, it is a waste of money. Oh and did I mention it already? It's full of bugs.
Gets boring really fast. The devs don't update anymore too.
Two years ago I played through this game, and beat it despite several game breaking bugs. I filed a bug report in the forum and expected that the allegedly 'still under development game' would get patched at some point. The bugs are still outstanding, and the devs haven't touched this game in years. Avoid it, it's a pain to try and play through the bugs and even if it worked it still has a lot of 'under construction' parts lying around. It's an early access game that doesn't mention that fact on the storefront. It has a lot of potential, but the limited and extremely buggy content that it has isn't worth buying even on a sale.
The game never was finished, but the developer slapped on a version number of v2.1.6 at the last update, just 3 months after the Early Access game was put out on Steam. That was the last update, the last communication from the developer of this game. Valve/Steam really needs to stop all this Early Access game support they are doing. There have been too many Early Access games now that have abandoned their projects before completing them, most of them seem to be in my library. You do nothing to protect your customers from these failed projects and our money for purchasing something that is never delivered in full. Really wish that Valve would take responsibility for their actions, letting these Early Access games be sold, when they do not get finished. This one, just like Starforge, had a version slapped on it to make it seem like it was finished, but anyone who knew what features were promised in these games, know damn well these games never got finished. We all should receive a full refund for these failed projects.
I like the relaxed pace of the game and figuring out how to craft things. It's unfortunate that it's been abandoned because there is massive scope to improve the game and make it truly special. As it stands, there are a few bugs and little reason to keep playing after you've built a town. Stocking the Tavern is tedious and grinding due to the clunky crafting system for food and drink, on top of that you end up with ridiculous amounts of unused resources due to an inability to either sell them to merchants or throw them away. Some quests are impossible to complete if you end up on a map that has not generated a resource not sold by the merchants, and the merchants themselves are a little useless sometimes because they carry only a few coppers. The pathfinding is a nightmare, and the system for removing tree stumps involves right clicking on every single one instead of something more intuitive like cutting down the tree and then removing the stump with a shovel. I'll probably still play it, as I like the initial gameplay, but in the long-term playability stakes, it falls sadly short and is quite disappointing for the price.
I think I got this game for free at some point and don’t recall why. It’s really clunky, unintuitive, and needlessly frustrating to complete simple tasks. Easy stuff that could have been tuned up by the dev’s if they had stuck around. It had potential, even if you don't like the visuals. It’s decent if you want to switch your brain off for a while, though I can’t recommend this to anyone just for that.
It started of small.... With a little loan, much work und a pot of luck, my character "Andrew Wilson", should soon become the first gazillionaire. The plan was simple: 1) Aquire stupid amount of useless materials 2) realize that crapitalism is a far superior concept 3) grind stupid coal and iron 4) hire kids for minimum wage (better mine workers) The frist step was done. I built an empire that should last generations.... but i wanted more.... much more. So i used tactics beyond the realm of morals..... lootboxes. Fixing the first kids was easy. I just had to throw money at some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ YouTubers to promote my new form of slavery. They would go and work 12 hours in the farm to receive a food lootbox containing 90 out of 50 times a Joja-Cola and a sliece of old bread. Meanwhile my venders would grind huge amounts of money, but are too stupid to do literaly anything else in the supply chain. So the plan had to change. I wouldnt run around and suply every 5 minutes some whackamole'ys. Unfortunatly i already signed a pact with the devil to receive these glorius selling ideas, so i would stick to conventional methods.... Arms dealing. Using the power of mass production and lean manifacturing i achieved great success, with one Problem... The arms were used against me, and the 1000 Year war would soon start. # I wake up, my hands tied... I am looking to the left and seeing a fellow human saying that i was getting arrested in some kind of unfortunate trap. It seems like my worst enemy... General Tul... i mean Todd Howard got me.... I guess its time to say goodbye... So i give this game a thumbs down.
I can sum up this game in one sentence, once spoken to a dear friend: "Congratulations, I've never tasted a fart before."
This game is cute but the controls are clunky and there's no 'encyclopaedia' to refer to for crafting recipes/requirements. You discover how to make things by just combining inventory items in the crafting screen or at a crafting station. I guess if you want a game with minimal help that's restricted to pre-made levels with no sandbox mode, you may enjoy this. **
I really loved the idea of this game, and I loved lots of aspects of the missions and etc but I found that a lot of the controls and interface interactions are very clumsy. I experianced a lot of crashes and glitches while playing it as well. I often would have to start from scratch on a mission because of a crash which was very frustrating. I would play this game more if there were bug fixes.
