Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 14 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Torment: Tides of Numenera is a dense, cerebral role-playing game that places narrative, philosophy, and consequence at the very center of its design. Developed and published by inXile Entertainment, it positions itself as a spiritual successor to classic story-driven CRPGs, most notably Planescape: Torment, and largely succeeds by committing to ideas that many modern RPGs only gesture toward. Set in the Ninth World—a far-future Earth shaped by the rise and collapse of countless advanced civilizations—the game presents a setting where science and magic are indistinguishable, and where meaning is discovered through interpretation rather than explanation. You play as the Last Castoff, a being created and discarded by the godlike Changing God, whose past lives have left scars on the world and on the people who inhabit it. This premise immediately frames the story around identity, responsibility, and legacy rather than heroism or conquest. Instead of asking the player to save the world, the game consistently asks quieter but more unsettling questions: what remains after you are gone, how others are shaped by your actions, and whether intent matters more than outcome. These themes are not confined to cutscenes or exposition; they are embedded into nearly every quest, dialogue choice, and character interaction. Dialogue is the backbone of the experience. Conversations are extensive, nuanced, and often layered with hidden meanings that only become clear later. Choices are rarely labeled as good or evil, and the consequences are often indirect or delayed. The game replaces traditional morality systems with the “Tides,” abstract forces that represent different philosophical approaches such as empathy, ambition, reason, or passion. Your actions subtly shift these tides, influencing character reactions, quest outcomes, and even mechanical bonuses. This system reinforces the idea that morality is contextual and interpretive rather than absolute, encouraging players to think carefully about why they make decisions, not just what those decisions are. Exploration in Torment: Tides of Numenera is slow, deliberate, and richly textured. Locations feel alien yet lived-in, filled with strange technologies, unusual cultures, and characters whose motivations are rarely simple. Quests often unfold through conversation, investigation, and problem-solving rather than combat, and many situations can be resolved in multiple ways depending on your skills, background, or willingness to engage deeply with the narrative. The game rewards curiosity and attentiveness, frequently offering unique outcomes to players who read closely, ask the right questions, or approach problems creatively. Combat exists, but it is intentionally de-emphasized. Turn-based encounters are relatively infrequent and can often be avoided entirely through dialogue or clever use of abilities. When combat does occur, it serves more as a narrative punctuation mark than a primary challenge system. Character builds influence how encounters play out, but the mechanics are clearly secondary to the story being told. For some players, this makes combat feel underdeveloped or lacking impact, while for others it reinforces the game’s identity as a narrative RPG rather than a tactical one. Character progression supports this philosophy-driven design. The three core classes—Glaive, Nano, and Jack—act more as starting frameworks than rigid archetypes. Skills and attributes influence dialogue options as much as combat effectiveness, meaning that investing in intellect, empathy, or esoteric knowledge can open entirely new paths through the game. Companions are similarly complex, each bringing their own philosophical conflicts and personal histories. Their reactions to your choices add emotional weight and often challenge the player’s assumptions, making them feel like genuine participants in the world rather than simple party members. The presentation reinforces the game’s contemplative tone. Visually, the environments are colorful, strange, and often surreal, conveying a sense of ancient wonder and quiet decay. The art direction favors mood and symbolism over realism, while the soundtrack complements the experience with subtle, atmospheric compositions that enhance immersion without drawing attention away from the text. Voice acting is used selectively but effectively, lending gravity to key moments without undermining the dominance of written dialogue. That said, Torment: Tides of Numenera demands patience. The game is text-heavy, philosophically dense, and often slow to reveal its larger narrative threads. Players expecting fast-paced action or clear-cut objectives may struggle with its deliberate pacing and abstract themes. Some systems can feel opaque, and the sheer volume of reading can be intimidating. However, for players willing to engage on its terms, these same qualities become its greatest strengths. In the end, Torment: Tides of Numenera is less about winning battles or collecting loot and more about understanding a world shaped by forgotten histories and unresolved consequences. It is a game that respects the player’s intelligence, trusting them to interpret meaning, wrestle with ambiguity, and reflect on the impact of their choices. While it may not appeal to everyone, it stands as one of the most thoughtful and ambitious narrative RPGs of its generation, offering an experience that lingers in the mind long after the final decision is made. Rating: 7/10

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Instead of playing this, just read a book and play the original. Not necessarily in that order.
It's not terrible, but I didn't bother to finish it. I'm an avid reader, but even I got sick of the walls of text. After a while I was just skimming them to find out what they wanted me to do, and then go do it. The battle system is decent, and it's good they're trying something new. But overall, it was a lot of "are you done talking and re-explaining my job, so I can do it?" feeling when talking to NPCs. Frankly, I couldn't even guess at the plot (apart from "Hero Saves Day"), and I got as far as the final act.
Loved the game. Loved the setting, the atmosphere, loved reading dialogues and making choices, loved how combat is easy yet still engaging (difficult combat is the reason why I haven't finished Planescape Torment) If you enjoy text-heavy CRPGs with weird game worlds and great art, you'll probably like this one
Torment: Tides of Numenera — a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment. Because the developers didn’t have the license, the setting was changed, but the core philosophy remained: combat is secondary, while dialogue, choices and consequences are the real heart of the game. Just like its predecessor, the gameplay focuses much more on diplomacy, decision-making and exploring the protagonist’s identity than on fighting. The narrative is genuinely interesting, companions are well written, and the main character concept works very well. The early portion of the game especially shines — the atmosphere is fantastic and the primary antagonist creates real tension and mystery. Unfortunately, about halfway through the game it feels as if development was rushed. The structure becomes repetitive, the story loses some of its intrigue, and encounters with the antagonists feel less like meaningful confrontations and more like recurring annoyances. The ending in particular feels abrupt and leaves many unanswered questions — almost like reading a novel that suddenly skips a few chapters near the conclusion. Despite its flaws, it’s still worth playing, especially for players who value narrative RPGs. However, it’s definitely a title better picked up on sale rather than at full price. + strong narrative focus and meaningful choices + excellent atmosphere in the first half + well-written companions and protagonist + combat is optional and mechanically solid − pacing issues in the later chapters − story loses momentum halfway through − underwhelming and abrupt ending − not worth full price

literally just planescape torment but dumber and worse. there's spiritual sequels, and then there's this.
actually improves on planescape by removing the unnecessary content (combat) and focusing on the Real gameplay (reading)
If you enjoyed the original Planescape, then you will like this one also. Sure it is abit different, but the plot is pretty good for a video game. A solid B I would grade it. Considering most games that claim their game is story rich, this one actually means it. The environments you travel to and thru are decent and varied. I am going give this a 2nd play through soon to see the other characters and find the things I missed this time. Its not a real long game, maybe 40 to 60 hours unless like me you stop to read everything. Some choices do have consequences end game so make your choices carefully.
