Reviews
This is Sam Fisher stripped of his high tech agency gear, completely rogue, and fueled by pure rage as he hunts down his daughter's killers. The game trades slow, passive hiding for fast paced, aggressive tactical violence, and the result is an absolute rush from start to finish. The absolute star of the show is the "Mark & Execute" mechanic. Snapping a guard's neck to earn an execute, marking your targets, and clearing an entire room in a split second feels incredibly badass. This feeds into a highly aggressive "Panther" stealth style where you aren't hiding because you're fragile, but because you are the hunter. The game flows beautifully as you transition from silent takedowns to loud gunfights, then vanish back into the darkness. This is all wrapped in a brilliant cinematic presentation where your current objectives are projected directly onto the walls of the environment, keeping you completely immersed without a clunky HUD. To top it all off, the game features a completely separate co-op campaign starring Archer and Kestrel. It requires genuine coordination and stands as some of the best co-op stealth ever made, making it worth the price of admission on its own. Keep in mind that this is definitely more of an action thriller than a pure stealth simulation. If you are looking for complex gadgets and open ended, non-linear sandboxes, you might find this entry a bit too simplified and streamlined compared to traditional stealth games. If you want to shut your brain off, step into the boots of an absolute weapon, and play through one of the most satisfying power trips in gaming, buy this game.
Splinter Cell has been long since forgotten about by Ubisoft, but if you have to play a Splinter Cell game, I highly recommend this one or Chaos Theory, leaning more towards this one cause it's more modern. Don't play Blacklist, it just doesn't have any heart.
Haven't you heard? He's DEAD! Just ask my daughter. 9/10
