Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.71/day in the week to Sep 12 → 6.2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Photomaly is PSX-style first-person horror game where you take over the photography studio your father left behind. Process orders from strange customers, decorate your studio and keep an eye out for things that don’t seem quite right...

Photography isn’t always as simple as pressing the shutter. Find the perfect angle, develop film under the right conditions, prepare the final photos, and make sure they end up in the right hands.

Greet and serve the local community. Each customer comes with their own unique requests, quirks, and stories. Get to know your patrons and fulfil their orders. Just make sure not to pry too deep…

When business is slow, customise and decorate your workspace. Hang your favourite prints on the wall or create the perfect wallpaper for your PC. Use your profits to unlock and purchase studio upgrades – better equipment, better setups, better results.

Developing films pays the bills, but something isn’t quite right. With every photo taken, you get a little bit closer to [REDACTED]. The [REDACTED] seems to know some things as well…

I'll recommend this game once the backrooms section is either removed or made optional. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it belongs in every horror game. As it stands, that mandatory section completely destroys the game's pacing. It feels less like a tense horror sequence and more like a frustrating, drawn out chore. That's disappointing because the game is genuinely enjoyable up until that point. Instead of adding to the experience, the backrooms segment brings it to a halt. Will wait for endless mode or it to become optional.
Refunded during the backrooms maze -- it was silly and took away from the gameplay that I was mostly enjoying, and as it was the third or fourth game I was playing specifically for this type of slower-paced horror that introduced sudden platforming/maze gameplay, I decided the game wasn't for me. I wanted something a lot more subtle and less jumpscare-heavy, but I sure do enjoy the idea and the execution was very well done, style-wise -- bummed the game turned out to not be for me but I'll keep an eye out for future titles that might fit better. EDIT: My initial review was snarkier because of generative AI use, but the dev responded to my first review (thank you for clarifying!) and said that while generative AI was used for placeholder reasons in the demo, it was removed and replaced in the final. (This is what I gathered from the response, anyway.) While I don't think it's great to use gen AI for any part of a game, I do have mad respect for people who do the right thing and take it out, so, glad to see that. The game doesn't work for me for other reasons, but I did want to edit my review to not spread a false narrative.
Dreams of Genesis
I am a sucker for "cosy horror" and especially ones styled in a PS1-Esque style, this is no exception. A very fun, creepy and intriguing game with great scares and some real funny (yet unnerving!) moments that fit into the paranormal aspect. The playstyle loop is easy to learn and the camera system is fun. I should mention that one section of the game did pull me out and made me feel a little less immersed, especially for the length (Not stating which part for spoilers sake) and I wonder if it would have been better without or by making the section shorter. However; considering this is apparently the dev's first solo developer game, they're starting out with a fantastic first impression. Definitely one to watch out for!

I was pretty excited to play this game after I played the demo. I enjoyed working in this little photography studio and the quirky customers that would show up and what would happen in your interactions with them. Now for the downside...I wasn't really keen on the 'spot the anomaly' on the surveillance camera. Also, the lack of upgrades for your little shop. Finally, I hated the hazmat suit segment. Just was looking for more of what I saw in the demo; with the story fleshing out through character interactions, reading documents, and searching for old photos, etc. Perhaps the previous owner's old acquaintance could have sent film with unique information? I thought it was a cute touch with the mic segment and would have enjoyed to see a little more use out of that.
A great job simulator concept as a photographer in a studio (Either that or something else) mixed with horror except for when the game decides to introduce the Backrooms halfway is where the game loses me and all the pacing of the horror is put at a halt. Anytime there is puzzles that involve monster chases (especially having to keep your eyes on a monster and not look away while figuring out where to walk on a tiny, maze floor with pits) are usually more frustrating than scary. I would say wait for the endless mode to be finished before buying this game because catching anomalies & reporting them to the authorities is fun. Gameplay wise besides operating a camera, PC, red room and so on there is some security camera surfing like FNAF so for the short time that I played for I liked the gameplay. The scares themselves were mostly excessive with jumpscares which could've been done better and less frequently. If the game decided to not include the Backrooms then I would've easily recommended it. It's an average rating now only because there is an endless mode in development & I'm hoping for more NPCs to interact with because they're one of the best parts of the game. For endless mode more shopping options would be nice too if that's possible for replayability, I'm not sure how the final release of that will go but that's my recommendation.
Look it's not a bad game it really isn't it has a lot of good moments, but it's so short. Less than 2 hours of gameplay so I'd wait until it's super on sale as 6$ for an 80 minute game isn't worth it. But lots of potential and maybe a chance for a sequel if that's the case I hope the second installment is longer
