Lovecraft’s Untold Stories is based on H.P. Lovecraft’s stories. You will experience first-hand the cosmic horror created by the genius of Providence. Every character will go through an investigation that will take them through different locations, from the creepy old Victorian mansion to the abandoned hospital where forbidden experiments take place or the jungle where lost tribes celebrate forgotten rituals, just to name a few. Levels are randomly generated: it will be a different experience every time you play. Also, they vary depending on the character you’re playing with. Look for items and clues to unlock secrets and new stories!
You can play as 5 different characters, each with a different playstyle and storyline. A private detective, a witch, a thief, a professor, and even a ghoul—each with different stats, weapons, and combat moves, creating five entirely different gameplay experiences. The Detective offers a balanced playstyle, with average Health and Stamina. The Professor is a specialist in ranged combat, with less Health and a special shield granted by his weapon, the Tillinghast. The Witch does a lot of damage, has teleport abilities and elemental shields of fire and ice, but also a very low Health. The Thief is a specialist in melée combat that takes advantage of its stealth to maximize her damage. The ghoul does a lot of melée damage, has a high Health and regenerates itself, but can’t use medkits at all.
The truth of the dark horrors that inhabit the universe is unbearable for any human mind. In the end, you can’t win against the Old Ones. Madness or death await you. But maybe you can delay the inevitable… If you face the Great Old Ones without any knowledge about them, you will go mad just by looking at their hideous features. But spread across every level you will find special items with information about the Great Old Ones. The more you know about them, the stronger your mind shall become – but knowledge is not easy to find, and if you are not thorough in your investigation you might get to the end of a storyline without finding everything that is to know. You will have to play with all the characters if you want to find all the information about every Great Old One!
Insanity crawls behind every corner for those who face the Mythos. In your investigations, you will face different situations where you have to choose what to do – make the wrong decision and you will start losing your mind. In order to face the Great Old Ones, you need knowledge, and to find it you have to explore – but the more you explore the more events that shake your sanity you will find… Those who go mad under the influence of the Mythos take their own life to escape the eternal terror they are now looking at. Not all hope is lost, though – there are some ways to recover your sanity…

[h1] At first I was shocked. Then I realized cthulhu is not real. Gameplay is a bit unintuitive at first but after some time you get used to it. Shooting is done automatically by pushing joystick, not the best solution really because you can't always tell where you're aiming. Ammunition is infinite so basically blast as much as you like. Dodging over traps and obstacles or enemies for temporal invulnerability. Ambience is nice and gloomy, you gonna fight many cthulhu monsters, undead, cultists, spiders and other creatures. Overall there's 5 chapters, some containing multiple locations (floors in this case). Some rooms must be purified from monsters to unblock the exits. Save rooms or merchant rooms to exchange money and investigation points for some goodies. Goal is not clear but usually you have to find some clues and activate something when you get required items, after that boss fight. Keep sanity in touch or risk losing life when it gets to certain point, some items like chocolate bar reduce it. Equipping your character with better gear is needed later on. To unlock new characters you have to find specific room and do clear some objective first like deactivating all switches. Music is dark and make up for spooky horror. Is this game worth your time? If you like dark roguelite adventures with cthulhu based monsters and gloomy ambience then probably yes. [/h1]
At first, I like the game. Good character design, nice visuals and dark atmosphere etc make the game playable. As a Lovecraft enthusiast, world of the Untold Stories makes me feel the sense of uneasieness of the game. I liked it, but game is hard. For some players, that makes it more enjoyable. It was like that me for a while, but i couldn't progress the game after a point or it was so slow. Then i change the difficulty, after that there were less enviromental elements. Whole level/map looks empty. Besides, it was still hard a little bit. So, this game is a wasted potential.

A painfully slow, jank filled mess with terrible combat.
Franchement le jeu est très dur et comme en plus il ne vous aide pas du tout, vous allez souffrir. + 5 personnages (dont 4 à débloquer) avec une façon de jouer différente. + Beaucoup d'objets avec de nombreux effets + Des énigmes pour vous griller les 3 neurones qu'il vous reste. + Direction artistique très soignée avec un bonne connaissance de l'univers. Evidemment il y a quelques défauts : - Pas de traduction française et comme il y a pas mal de texte lié à l'univers de Lovecraft, cela peut-être compliqué. - Difficulté très élevée pour les combats, même en facile. - Quelques bogues, mais généralement c'est que le jeu n'étant pas limpide, vous allez râler sur un bogue qui n'en n'est pas un. Bref, si vous n'aimez pas souffrir passer votre chemin.

Lejos de ser solo un "mata-mata", este título exige gestionar la investigación y el combate mientras controlas a cinco personajes distintos, cada uno con su propia trama, en niveles generados proceduralmente que destilan horror cósmico. 🧠 La Esencia: La gestión de la cordura. A diferencia de otros juegos donde solo importa la vida, aquí el conocimiento es peligroso. Leer demasiados libros prohibidos o ver estatuas impías te da pistas, pero drena tu mente hasta el suicidio, obligándote a equilibrar la curiosidad con la supervivencia. 🔫 Mecánicas: Mezcla el combate estilo twin-stick shooter (disparar con dos joysticks) con la resolución de puzzles y gestión de inventario. Cada personaje cambia radicalmente la jugabilidad: el detective usa escopeta, la bruja magia y el profesor ciencia, lo que aporta mucha variedad a cada "run". 🎨 Aspecto Técnico: Un pixel art detallado y oscuro que logra transmitir terror a pesar de la perspectiva cenital. La ambientación sonora es envolvente, con efectos y música que refuerzan la tensión constante de no saber qué hay en la siguiente habitación. ⏱ Duración: Unas 10-12 horas para completar las historias principales (dependiendo de tu habilidad). Alrededor de 25-30 horas para el 100% y desbloquear todos los secretos. Lo mejor ✔️ La variedad jugable entre los cinco personajes es notable y refrescante. ✔️ Capta la atmósfera lovecraftiana a la perfección, llena de referencias para los fans. ✔️ El sistema de cordura y decisiones añade una capa estratégica única al género. A mejorar ➖ La gestión del inventario puede ser tosca y rompe el ritmo de la acción constantemente. ➖ Algunos picos de dificultad y trampas se sienten injustos debido a la generación aleatoria. ➖ El combate puede volverse algo repetitivo y simple en los tramos finales.
