I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that this game does not start if you are using Windows 11. The optimization is also really bad, maybe one of the worst I've ever encountered in videogame. It's not right to sell it in this state IMO, which is why I gave it thumbs down. The good news is you can fix it by renaming a file inside the game directory: \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction\src\system old file name: systemdetection.dll new file name: systemdetection.dll.BAK There is a fix for the horrible performance on nexusmods, called CPU Usage Fixer, but it did not do anything for me. Optiomization is absolutely horrible on this game. I hope this helps someone who is wrestling with this same issues. Game itself is very good. It's a nice mix of stealth and action and the story is very good. I really like this Sam Fisher guy.
The Game is good and very good. Disappointment is Ubisoft Montreal for still selling this game on steam without properly updating or fixing the compatibility issue this game has with the modern hardware and Windows 11. Anyways, I managed to play the game with following adjustments: 1. Delete the Detection File. Because the game looks for hardware that no longer exists, deleting the checker bypasses the (error prompt.Open) and open Steam and go to your Library. Right-click Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction, hover over Manage, and select Browse local files. In the window that pops up, navigate through the folders: src > system. Locate the file named (systemdetection.dll) and delete it (or move it to a backup folder just in case). 2. Set Compatibility Mode: Telling Windows to run the executable as if it were on Windows 7 resolves the remaining OS errors. While still in the src > system folder, right-click the conviction_game.exe file. Select Properties and click on the Compatibility tab. Tick the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 7 or Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the dropdown. Check the box for "Run this program as an administrator" at the bottom.Click Apply then OK. 3. Launch the Game: Return to your Steam Library and hit Play. You may still get a pop-up saying the file is missing or a warning that it's unplayable—just click OK or Yes, and the game will boot up. 4. You may be asked to create or register for a Ubisoft account. Hope it helps. All issues aside this game is just awesome...

THIS IS WHAT PEAK LINEAR ACTION GAME WAS IN 2010
I love this game and played it when it launched over 15 years ago. It's a little broken ATM, so I can't fully recommend it right now.
Fps drops to 35 although this should run with like 300 fps or even more (1080p) Fusion fix also doesnt help, neither does Win7 compat Should be an easy fix for u ubish.t, well i guess ur reputaton is not bad enough already. Try not to cry to loud when u hit the bottom. Idiots. refunded and reported for scam
If you can get the game to work then this game is fantastic to play, definitely one of Ubisofts better games but that comes at the cost of being old and being run by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ iteration of that same company.
sigue siendo bueno a pesar de tener mas de 10 años
