I remember playing this game when it first came out on console and I SUCKED. Which sucked because I thought the voice commands and the overall feel of a strategy game for WW3 was wicked. To my pleasure, now being an adult, I have been able to pick up this game on PC and thoroughly enjoy it and relive my 6th grade memories. It feels like you took the Total War games and put them in a modern setting without having to handle settlements. First, each faction is different, I beat the game on all 3 factions and they have their unique advantages that alter how you approach each map. Each map - feels like it offers its own unique challenges that you need to react to and when playing the AI and will feel different every time you switch a faction or switch sides. The gameplay can get hairy real quick. Especially if you like to secure uplinks and then half your forces are destroyed by a nuke... The pure tensions of a good 30 minute game when your replenish count is almost out and your rushing a transport to an uplink, or waiting for your CP to refill to call an airstrike in on their remaining unit - or perhaps to save a unit from being destroyed. Its a great game that deserves a refresh. The only cons I have is that the camera is only tied to the unit - and I wish you could also go to your command centers UAV. I also wish you could emplace defenses when defending a base much as you would realistically. If I were to remake this game - I would allow engineers to build these items. Also some of the maps - despite taking place in USA - feature European settings. - let me put my infantry in the suburbs of Atlanta as I have to handle limited line of site - while traversing house to house. Let my guys booby trap a building??? There is so much room for opportunity and I would really enjoy a sequel or a remake!
ok
Старая добрая стратегия!!!
Jogo da época que a ubisoft era boa, muito bom!
Balancing on later level is awful. I constantly had the bots swarming on every uplinks even when the game had just started.
excellent game for its age. absolutely worth the price. they dont make em like they used to. if ubisoft wont continue the franchise, at least release the source code for extensive modding.
Устарела безумно. Играть невозможно. Скучно/однообразно, криво. Крайне не рекомендую
Ubisoft's Red Alert
EndWar is a rather unusual and questionable project from Ubisoft, released back in 2008. An RTS game that promised to make life easier for console players and revolutionize the genre for years to come. Sounds ambitious, but as expected, the idea flopped. The main features were the locked-to-unit camera and voice control. The first was annoying. The second was ignored. The result: we never saw anything like it again, at least not in the mainstream.
Quite Pretty for 2008
🟢Say what you will, but Ubisoft knows how to nail the visuals.
Evil Ruskies Invade Everyone
🔴Set in 2020. Three major global factions clash over resources: Russia, the USA, and the European Federation. While the winner depends on the player's actions, the story serves mainly as a backdrop for the tactical engagements, similar to other titles in the Tom Clancy series. We all know who gonna win canon wise tho - its REDACTED.
Truly a Console RTS
🟡The game features a global strategic map for turn-based decisions on movement, defense, and upgrades. Missions are straight forward tactical gameplay where you either holding ground or forcing an enemy retreat. No base building tho. Nothing too special. Music:🟡 A standard orchestral score. Levels: 🟡Open fields, industrial stations, and urban ruins. Units: 🟡Infantry, tanks and helicopters, balanced by a rock-paper-scissors mechanic. Support powers include literal nukes.
Replay Value
🟡3 factions means 3 playthroughs, but they are mostly the same. i personally had enough of One
6/10 — Mediocre.
Ambitious and boring because of the repetitive pacing. Would it be more Cinematic and Interactive like Red Alert - would've been awesome But at the same time - it would be just a clone of C&C. Then again - its better to play war in games rather whats going on right now in the real world Bought for the collection since I lost my original copy back in the day ;/
Terrible voice calibration, voice commands were unusable. This game's entire claim to fame does not work.
