Bought this for the incredible art style and hand drawn animation, but holy cow, what a goofy lil romp this was. I could not in a million years predict the direction the plot took. If I had a dollar for every story I've experienced that follows a vain himbo into a Mr. Toad's Wild Ride level of wack-ass misadventure (and somehow doesn't die), I'd have... honestly, not enough dollars. More of that, please. Also, the ending is purposefully "unsatisfying," but I liked it. Sometimes a "good" ending would disregard the story's message, and ya just gotta make peace with an ending that stays in line with the message.
If not for slightly high price tag, I'd recommend this game to everyone who's into point and click adventure games and any games like them. Sure its not 100% point and click since you need to use other buttons for combat sections, but its not a deal breaker. Gameplay is pretty casual and simple. It's a mix of point n click puzzle solving, combat and like 2 stealth sections(well technically 3, but 3rd one is super short with 1 enemy) and a car chase mini game. Point and Click Adventure parts are the best ones, the puzzles are very logical and dont use moon logic, so its always a plus in my book. Combat sections are ok, but a bit too simple in terms of mechanics(as in' there arent many, heck one character appears once and never again) Gameplay is alright and it works for this type of story, which takes main focus of the game. Im not gonna spoil it, but its very refreshing breath of fresh air and doesnt feel cliche, especially the ending(althought the ending may be controversial, it does feel like it ends abrubtly, almost wish we got a sequel to explore rammifications of it) Also the game is relatively short, you can beat it in 5-7h, technically 2-3 if you know what to do and skip dialogue, but I tried to do as many achievements on a first run as I could, sadly besides achievements theres no replayability because theres no branching paths So if its on discount? Definitely try to check it out, but the price rn is just a bit too steep
Definitely a unique game with an amazing art style, a fitting soundtrack, and interesting gameplay. 1. Soundtrack - I often found myself idling in the game just to listen to the music on repeat. It’s very relaxing while exploring, but shifts into something much more tense during combat. If you’re a fan of jazz, you’ll really enjoy the soundtrack. 2. Gameplay - The core gameplay is mostly point-and-click, with investigations that rely on logic and deduction. There’s also a bit of stealth, along with some turn-based combat featuring QTEs. It’s a well-balanced mix of genres, and the transitions between them feel smooth and natural. 3. Story - The storyline is unusual,
not your typical good-versus-evil setup. Neither the “good guy” nor the “bad guy” truly wins… and in some ways, the bad guy actually does.
It left me genuinely interested in checking out the source material. The game itself is fairly short. I finished my first playthrough in about 5 hours, then went back for a second run to get 100% achievements. While there isn’t much replayability beyond that, I’d still recommend the game for its striking art style, engaging atmosphere, and excellent soundtrack.
A good point&click game, albeit short, featuring probably the strangest story I’ve ever seen in the genre. It piqued my curiosity about the source material, since the game is an adaptation of the eponymous novel by Boris Vian. I only knew the author by name and I didn't expect this kind of narrative at all. The story is original yet so unconventional that I’m sure it won’t be to everyone’s taste. Personally, I enjoyed it, it offered something very different. It all begins with a rather baffling protagonist. He is completely narcissistic, naive, and somewhat simple-minded. And in his view, defending his virginity is his biggest problem because his good looks attract every girl he crosses paths with... One would tend to think that reality would put him in his place, but no, quite the contrary. The adventure unfolds in an atmosphere that is at once comical, retro-noir, and slightly surreal, with our narcissistic hero trying to solve a murder and uncover the reasons behind his own kidnapping, events that occur at the beginning of the game. The gameplay is a mix of point&click exploration, puzzles to organize clues, QTEs, stealth and turn-based combat. While the mechanics are quite simple, the variety of these sequences gives the adventure a great rhythm. However, the denouement seemed a little too abrupt to me. (I also wonder if it matches the ending of the original novel) It's a short and very varied game but given its wacky, or even downright bizarre story, it probably won't appeal to everyone. Yet, for that very reason, it was a truly unique experience. I recommend it.

I had it on my wishlist for quite some time, just because i liked the game's art style, but didn't expect much out of it. And oh boy, how happy am I that I wasn't postponing playing it any longer. In just 4 hours of my playtime I had more fun than in any slop that's come out this year, Solid story, awesome art style, and even though most of the gameplay was added just to stretch out the game, it wasn't annoying at all. So yeah - give it a go, it's definitely worth your time. FYI, only 47% of players lost their virginity.
Very unique game right here. Never heard of the book until I got this game, the photos alone intrigued me enough to give it a whirl. SPOILERS BELOW!!! Its short, and its not one of those typical stories where the good guys win and everything goes back to normal as many others have mentioned. The bad guy wins which is something you hardly see at all. Definitely recommend a playthrough.
I was excited when this game went on sale as I was very intrigued by the animation style, unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. If you are looking for a game with a similar story arc and gameplay I highly recommend playing Unforeseen Incidents instead Cons: - The English written dialogue had a considerable amount of grammatical mistakes, and was just odd and clunky at times, which not only took you out of the fantasy, but also made the characters feel hollow. This to me is indicative of a poor translation and not perhaps an issue with the original material. If you were to play this in its original French I think it could end up more enjoyable - This was shorter than expected, especially for the price, I completed the whole game in around 3.5 hours, this included exploring basically all dialogue options with every character in every scene. - The plot had major pacing issues. I was ok with the unusual ending had it not felt rushed. - I wanted more detective work. There was one section where you had to piece together evidence matching various missing persons, and it was super satisfying. If there was maybe 2-3 more similar tasks that had been sprinkled throughout it would have really elevated the gameplay. Pros: - I loved the animation style, if anything I wish I could've enjoyed living in it more if there had been some additional environmental interactions - All the sounds were amazing, not just the music but the ambient background sounds and object effects etc really took you into the world.
