I have had this game on my wishlist for a very long time. I picked it up immediately when I saw that EA was available. The game is a good idea, I have always liked the idea of medics in games. I almost always play one in games like BF or HLL or any other game that has a medic option. The game DOES have a long, long ways to go. I played for a little while and essentially lost interest. It needs more engagement, the stakes need to be higher and there needs to be more weight put on decisions you make. It seems very linear at the moment, essentially just moving from one person to another as the game directs you. The graphics and optimization obviously need an overhaul, the game feels like an old Medal of Honor or Call of duty from the early 2000s. I also think this game could be more immersive by switching to a first person rather than 3rd person. The third person seemed a bit clumsy and difficult to navigate and orient yourself. This is an EA game. A hopefully VERY early access game. I am giving it a thumbs up recommendation for now as I believe a lot is going to be improved upon and the developers have already mentioned some since the EA release and there are no real other games with this idea.
I've been following this game for a long time and have been an active member of it's community, it's great to have followed this games journey and help in it's testing process. With the public release I will now finally be able to leave my review. I've always been a support player at heart so the second I found this game I knew I had to get it no matter when it came out. At the time of review it has just entered into early access, while what is currently available is still a little rough around the edges at times, the game has a lot of potential to grow into something great. As someone who's a combat medic by trade IRL the treatments and gameplay is definitely pretty accurate for what is depicted, especially for the time period. additionally the dev's are definitely going with something different to break the mold of most WWII era games. While I did receive my copy of the game for free $10 is definitely a steal for a game like this and will definitely be more then worth once everything is released and all the final touches are on it. Lord, please help me get one more.
honestly its 10 bucks, its not a great game, but im more than happy to spend ten dollars to support this concept and hopfully they can do more with it.
Unfortunately at the current state of the game, I cannot recommend it. I mean, it's a VERY cheap game, and I think that's reflecting in the quality of the development but also in a way, it's good enough that it doesn't make me want to instantly refund this and I'll just hold on to it in the hopes that they actually improve it. Now for the review: The game is extremely simple, there's nothing special about being a medic here. You find some people, put some gauze, maybe a torniquet, then bandage their limb... That's it. Then you just carry the person to a medic outpost. I do find it extremely weird that after bandaging someone up, I need to bring them to a medic outpost cus I'm here supposedly to save lives of people in the heat of war... But it forces me to carry the person all the way to the hospital. Luckily it's usually 40 meters away, so the drop-off is fast but similarly to other ambulance games where you have to save people, they ALWAYS force you to drive people to the hospital afterwards which is insane to me... I'm here to play medic, not freaking ambulance simulator. Anyway, my biggest gripe with the game and the reason I'm not recommending this is because... You don't actually need to play the game, as in, you don't actually need to bandage anyone up. Just pick the person up, drop them off at the nearest medical center, done. You've fixed the person up and you've solved your case. Even if they are bleeding profusely, you can just whisk them away. Had a guy with 4 wounds in different limbs, at 90% HP (which by itself is already weird)... I just carried him on my shoulders, sprinting, to the nearest hospital. I reached there with 30% HP remaining for the guy... Click to drop him off and done, you've saved him. It's just... Dumb. And sad. Anyway, like I said, I'm not going to refund it cus of how cheap it is and I'm really hoping that they improve the game (a lot) and not abandon it. One of the things that does concern me is that it's so cheap that they won't actually want to improve the game. Oh well, only time will tell.
The premise of this game is pretty good, I like the gameplay and the story so far. Of course this is early access so there are many bugs. The animation and loading is quite choppy and sometimes the voicelines don't match up or the audio cuts out. Also the lag is crazy But I played through what was available of the campaign and really liked it. I am excited to see more of the game and future updates.
Trotzdem es noch nicht fertig ist , schon echt gut gemacht .
MEDIC! DOCTOR! MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCC..!
(Linux Review) Compatibility: The game will NOT run without the use of protontricks - Will default to asking you to add runtimes and exit. Add the dependencies that the game asks for (Microsoft C++ Visual Runtime dependencies) and the game will run without any problems. Gameplay: As for the game itself, it has bugs, it has poor voice acting, it is generally a poorly designed game that will require a good computer, but it is still in early access (as of writing of this review) and likely will improve as the devs are receptive to feedback. It has alot of features and goes somewhat into detail for treating individual wounds and steps to care. Disclosure: I received this game for free in one of the developers' "Pulse Count" events, im not paid to write this review or anything.
