About
Tindark is a new loop-style horror experience wrapped in a familiar dating-app interface, drawing inspiration from The Exit 8.
Important: This is purely a game. There are no real matches, dates, or interactions with other users. Every profile is a fictional character created solely for this game.
Check 8 profiles each day
On the final card, decide whether an anomaly appeared that day
If you spot an anomaly, swipe NOPE (left) to reject
If nothing seems off, swipe LIKE (right) to continue
A correct answer advances to the next day; a wrong one sends you back to Day 0
Reach Day 9 to successfully quit the app (clear the game)
Swipe left on anomalies... or just everyone. The game barely cares.
Thank you Hot Tea Works for the curator copy. This is nonetheless an impartial review. I'm usually not the target audience for anomaly-spotting games since I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥ for horror and jumpscares, but the premise here was interesting enough for me to give it a go. You have a handful of perfectly normal dating profiles on Day 0, then spend the following week swiping through them while identifying which ones have developed anomalies and need to go. It's a fun idea with clear rules, simple mouse controls, an anomaly collection in the main menu, multiple display modes, separate sound sliders, an option to prioritize undiscovered anomalies, 34 anomalies to find, and multiple endings to unlock. It also feels like the kind of game that would've made an entertaining stream. Sadly, the experience falls short, both in terms of playtime and content. I finished 3 full playthroughs and earned around 50% the achievements in roughly 2h. The soundtrack became repetitive enough that I muted it, and the achievements are still mostly written in Japanese. The anomaly hunting itself also loses its appeal surprisingly fast. Most anomalies are very obvious and rarely tied to the people you're judging. Instead of subtle profile changes, you'll often spot
giant pools of blood, corrupted text
, or other effects that practically wave at you. Since there are no real consequences for swiping left on everyone, the dating aspect disappears almost immediately. You have to deliberately play "correctly" by swiping right on normal profiles to make the mechanics matter. On top of that, every day reuses the same profiles in the same order, making repeat runs feel predictable and completely out of context. The biggest issue, however, is the use of AI-generated images. I understand they were reviewed and edited by the developer, but when perfectly normal Day 0 pictures feel more unsettling than some of the actual anomalies simply because of that AI uncanny vibe, anomaly detection stops being rewarding. You're constantly wondering whether something is intentionally wrong or just an artifact of the artwork itself, which hurts the immersion and undermines the core mechanic. It had a fun premise and plenty of potential, but it's too easy for anomaly veterans, not immersive enough for newcomers, and never quite delivers on the idea. A shame, really.
Downloaded this thinking “haha spooky Tinder meme game.” Ended up staring at profile pictures like I’m an FBI agent with unresolved trust issues 😭 At first it’s all: “Hmm… normal.” Then suddenly: “WHY DOES THIS MAN HAVE 37 TEETH?!” The game somehow turns swiping left and right into psychological warfare. Every profile had me questioning my sanity, my eyesight, and honestly my entire dating history 💀 Takashi is an Anomaly - just look at him! It’s basically: ✨ dating apps ✨ but with supernatural gaslighting. The “one mistake sends you back to Day 0” mechanic had me sweating harder than sending “u up?” at 2AM 😭 10/10 would get catfished by demons again.
It is nice for sure! Looking forward for more <3
i liked it, i got it from keymailer and although its a bit short i enjoyed playing it and i hope they add more to it maybe even, id play it again
