Reviews
I was looking for games like this again just now, and saw that I didnt leave a review yet. I really really like this game, and am sad that there are no sequels or updates coming. If you want to play an RTS/Survival game that makes you sweat, it will be hard to find anything that compares to this IMO. It's not a perfect game by any means, I think the controls feel a little hard to get into, especially for the hero missions, but if you get used to it they are very precise. The campaign is really cool, especially on the first playthrough, I wish I could experience some of the missions again for the first time. There are some good custom maps and survival can be fun, so there is some long term playability, but realistically for most people I would say its more of a ~60 hour game like it says in the description. So yea, if you like the Idea of RTS Survival games, give this a try, its real good. Just enjoy your time, cause there really isn't much else going on in this genre of games, and if you really like this you will probably be left wanting for more.

They Are Billions is a strategy game that spends hours letting you build a thriving colony, then sends fifty thousand zombies to inspect your construction quality. The early game is all about expansion, resource management, and carefully securing territory. Every wall, tower, and defensive position matters because a single infected slipping through your defenses can trigger a disaster that spreads through your colony in seconds. The tension never disappears. Even when your settlement looks unstoppable, you are constantly preparing for the next wave. Watching thousands of infected crash into carefully designed fortifications is both terrifying and incredibly satisfying. The steampunk setting, varied units, and technology progression provide plenty of strategic options. Rangers, snipers, soldiers, and powerful late-game weapons each have a role, and deciding how aggressively to expand is often the difference between victory and total collapse. The campaign can feel repetitive, some missions drag on longer than necessary, and losing after several hours due to one mistake can be painful. However, that pressure is exactly what makes success so rewarding. Everything was perfectly defended. Then one zombie found a gap I didn't know existed, and suddenly my entire population became part of the problem.

I want to love this game but the pathfinding AI is so bad it actually ruins it, you really have to babysit each unit and move them in small steps to keep them from leaving the gate and doing a huge circle through the entire hoard alerting them all at once just because you wanted to move 5 feet to the left, units just constantly get stuck in walls, unable to move, or just sit in one spot flipping back and forth for a while. Combine that with a game that autosaves constantly and one enemy getting through can basically wipe a multi-hour map and it ends up being a good idea that's too buggy and frustrating to be fun. If the pathfinding was fixed and the minimap was actually useful this would be a S tier RTS, but as it sits right now it's hard to recommend at it's price point and the low likelyhood of these major problems getting patched.
no comeback mechanic in the game. you screw up one thing and you are forced to watch how your city got destroyed. can't reset the level either.
