This was extremely tuff. Bigby Wolf still got motion over a decade later with the upcoming sequel, and this game still holds up to modern standards. Its strongest aspect is definitely the visual style and sound design, which I immediately clocked after seeing the intro sequence play for the first time. The purple neon lights enveloping the city as we traverse through its mysteries were executed fantastically. The story was a good spin on the classic murder mystery by making it appear as a "whodunit", but then flipping the script and making it more about the desperation and sacrifices of marginalized communities in an unfair world. The implementation of the fable characters is done very well, and lets there be a good balance between what you can predict with your knowledge of their stories, and their erratic decisions given the situation they are in. Allowing the player to take either violent or passive paths, and then having to face your decisions in the finale is typical Telltale storytelling, but here it felt very substantial, and it's largely due to a great set of characters and a protagonist we can all connect to. Regarding the ending, it was an interesting twist that had its signs throughout the game, but Telltale approaching it as a big cliffhanger to the next game was a bit of a letdown since #1 the company closed, and #2 because it's hard to see how they could really spin it into another storyline. Regardless, we're still getting a sequel, and I think that the ending still stands strong on its own. 9/10
Honestly, The Wolf Among Us is among the best Telltale's games. The gameplay is as usual lacking, Quick Time Events and point & click. I'd even say the choices are a bit meaningless and a bit unintuitive, I'm specifically referring to Prince Lawrence's fate, but moving on. I absolutely adore the setting. I cannot think of a single media, other than the comics it's based on, that has a similar premise, which is why I can't wait for the 2nd game. I also love the characters. Bigby is a flawed person that's trying to do better, making him extremely relatable and likeable. Woody is in a similar spot, also making him likeable, I find Collin quite endearing, Snow is also trying her best despite being a part of the corrupt system for years and so on and so forth. The setting and the characters alone is enough to captivate me, and so I believe it'll entice you.
One of the best walking narrative adventure that I've played, Great story, amazing artstyle, strong characters that you love and hate. The only downside is the lack of actual choice and consequence that all telltale games seem to have, but still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing
if snow white has a million fans, i'm one of them. if snow white has five fans, i'm one of them. if snow white has one fan, that one is me. if snow white has no fans, i'm no longer alive. if the world is against snow white, i'm against the entire world. till my last breath, i'll support snow white.
You play as a fairy tale sheriff who smokes a pack a minute, drinks cheap bourbon, and fights mythical creatures in a gritty 1980s New York. The neon-soaked neo-noir aesthetic is completely flawless, the synth soundtrack is incredible, and the storytelling keeps you hooked from the very first scene. It manages to make you feel genuinely bad for a hook-handed woodcutter and terrified of a girl with a ribbon around her neck. The only downside is agonizing over a dialogue choice for five full minutes, sweating bullets, just for the game to tell you "Snow White will remember that" and completely shatter your emotional stability for the rest of the week. An absolute masterpiece of a narrative game. I am still smoking cigarettes outside in the rain waiting for Season 2.
Played it for the story. Stayed for Bigby’s aura. 🐺

The Wolf Among Us was an amazing experience for me and one of my favorite story games. Bigby was great, I have a lot of memories with this game, and I really loved how your choices changed events and led to different outcomes. It made every decision feel important. A game I still remember years later. 9.5/10
Fairytale went wrong. Characters turning into animals but what's most important story that make mashed potato out of your brains. Story is divided into 5 chapters, sadly no continuation is planned and players are left with cliffhanger. Your actions will determine the outcome and alter ending in some way. I'm still shaking after this one... Telltale did great job!
