The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, a wonderful follow-up to the critically acclaimed The Witcher. Now before I start, The Witcher 2 is much more linear compared to the first and third Witcher game world-wise. The areas you explore each chapter are pretty small and compact for the most part. Story-wise, however, there are a lot of branching paths made by decisions that encourage playing through the game multiple times to experience the different choices and paths. With that said, the length of the game is made shorter because of it as well. Not to say this is a bad thing, as again, multiple playthroughs are encouraged to experience The Witcher 2's content to the fullest extent. The Voice acting in this game is very good. Everyone did a great job. Doug Cockle is still our man when it comes to the voice of Geralt of Rivia. The game has held up quite well graphically too, but then again, I did install a graphic upscale mod. And of course, the game runs great, but do keep in mind to periodically delete your saves while backing up your most recent one, as this game has the tendency to start crashing once it detects you have too many saves. I do not know what caused this, but this is the fix if your game suddenly starts crashing often, as well as the load time becomes slower. As for the gameplay, the combat went from a rhythm-based combat system to a real-time combat system. While there are plenty of improvements from the first game's combat, it can be clunky at times, such as dealing with multiple opponents can be a pain till you get an upgrade that allows your attack to hit multiple opponents at once, and the group finisher upgrade. Another especially important upgrade is the upgrade where you take reduced damage if Geralt gets attacked from behind. Trust me, getting hit in the back sucks. The dodging is quite unreliable as well, and even if you perfectly time your dodge, you will still get hit at times. It's especially bad when an attack from an enemy hits and knocks you down to the ground, to which either the same enemy or any other enemies that are there will just get free hits off on you, which more likely than not will just straight up kill you. There is a boss fight at the last chapter of the game that really does show the flaws of The Witcher 2's combat... It was really bad... As for the signs, oils, potions, throwing knives, traps, and bombs, prepping before a fight by drinking potions and applying oils to your swords can help turn the tide of a fight in your favor, much like the first game. Although I do dislike the fact that you have to go through a long animation to drink your potions, which can make fights you lost a pain, as you will have to go through the same animations again. I also dislike that they took away the animation where Geralt applied the chosen oils to his swords. I never really used the bombs, throwing knives, or the traps as they don't do a whole lot unless you specifically get the upgrades for them. Most of the time, you will get yourself hurt if you use the bombs and traps wrong. As for the signs, all of them are useful, but for me, I find Quen and Yrden to the most useful as Quen can protect you from powerful attacks, and Yrden is just broken, even more so when you get all the upgrades for it as it makes many fights trivial due to the fact when the enemy trigger the Yrden trap, they can't fight back so you can get plenty of free hits in before they break out of their stun state. Overall, I do recommend this game, and there are plenty of mods on Nexus that restore cut content as well as QoL improvements to further make The Witcher 2 a smoother experience. However, I suggest getting it on sale as well as picking up the first Witcher and the third Witcher game. The former I suggest picking up even if not on sale, and the latter on sale, including the expansion pass. Now is really a good time as any to get into the Witcher games, considering the fourth game is coming next year along with the last DLC for The Witcher 3. 8/10! Rolling Dice is fun till that it becomes obviously rigged!!!
muy buen juego, la jubalidad no quedo del todo obseleta, recomiendo jugar este antes del 3, historia 9/10 muy buen guion
It's a short game. Took me 17 hours to finish. There isn't a lot to do in the world as its pretty closed and the game only lets you traverse through small sections of the map. The story was alright but it ended too quickly. There was a lot of buildup of tension in the story at the end of chapter 2 but the game ended at chapter 3 really quickly, chapter 3 only took me less than 2.5 hours to beat. The game also felt too easy even on easy mode as I literally turned into a bullet sponge at the end. Ironically, the final boss dealt less damage than random kaedwani soldiers. Overall, it's an ok game but felt like nothing really carried over to TW3

Игра по сравнению с первой частью получилась топовой, вообщем рекомендую ознакомится
巫师2相比巫师1真的进步很大了,玩法已经很像现在的巫师3,剧情只是比不过1和3而已
