I bounced really hard off of this game a couple of years ago. I'm not sure I caught on to what type of game it was. I think I was trying to make it something else when it was really a turn based Slay the Spire kinda of game without a deck. Ok, it's not STS at all, but it does have paths to choose, and no idea what each node will give you. Centers around simple turned based combat, that's all it does, but it does that pretty well. Giving it a second chance and It was pretty fun. Got to the end on the second try, looks like it has a lot of interesting things to unlock. Probably well worth the $7 paid for it on the Steam sale. I'll easily get my $7 worth out of this.
A fun roguelite game that feels like kind of a mash up between XCOM tactical combat and FTL map progression. It can start to feel stale because certain elements like bosses are static but different starting generals and units help to alleviate that somewhat. While I couldn't play this game forever I think the time I've spent with it was mostly positive and it's not an expensive game, it has also nailed the woodblock painting aesthetic very well even down to the music. Basically I think this is a recommend. Maybe avoid if you absolutely hated FTL's map progression and style of building up resources though. WaWB operates very similar - you build up cash, scrolls and ammo of various kinds and strengthen your characters and accumulate equipment in preparation for the finale. But if that doesn't put you off or it sounds great to you this might be an affordable good time for you.
great game, takes some inspiration from FTL. definitely underrated. Also very difficult on hard and RNG plays a very small role which I enjoy! id definitely buy a sequel, spin-off, DLC or whatever. should the dev read this, i think a shorter and simpler name would be easier to market. but you do you
Still really good.

Was really interested in this game, and when it came on sale, I decided to give it a shot and was... vastly dissapointed. It's not a BAD game, just extremely mediocre. It is feudal Japan INSPIRED, with a very loose grip. You could literally swap the art with knights and DnD monsters and sell it as is, as a mobile game; heck, I think I found out exactly my feeling. This feels like an uninspired mobile game, generic and bland, using art assets to convey the vibe and nothing else. There's literally nothing special about it, enemies have generic attacks, mechanics are lackluster, and the game seems hellbent on punishing you for exploring. I have only received misfortune for taking risks in battle, and the events are: You find a thief. Lose gold without being able to interact. You are attacked. You are extorted. Then attacked. You are attacked. Even at a discount, I don't feel like this is worth anything. I'd play it as a free to play mobile.

The Wind and Wilting Blossom is a superb roguelike with FTL style progression and Heroes of Might and Magic style (single unit stack) combat. Upgrades, unit, and weapon variety are engaging. Combat is quick and adds an interesting wrinkle of asking you to position your units in such a way to manually collect dropped treasure before the fight ends. The artwork is consistent and unique. Strong recommend.
Have you ever think, "Man, I wish Shigatari had a sequel."
You play 30 min, a small mistake and you lose 60 min of game, because everything is so expensive than it would make your match. However, all is full of silly things to do, so you don't see much important things anywhere... maybe just boring
