I genuinely want to enjoy this game, I wish I could. I love the Silent Hill vibe and style, but including an unavoidable monster defeats the purpose of the vibe it's going for. But the part that genuinely killed it for me is the limited lives, and when you run out of lives you have to just... start over. It's near impossible to avoid the monster due to the games controls and then it takes away a full hour of progress. That's just frustrating and arguably poor game design. I hate being critical of games, but this one tries to be too much and it doesn't mesh well.
Shallow gameplay and lazy monster's mechanics (walking in circles and seeing through walls). Overall very unenjoyable experience coupled with the limited lives.
𖹭 i adore the style, ost and designs but..! the gameplay is lacking n gets stale :<
Nails the Silent Hill 1 aesthetic. Fabulously creepy atmosphere. Tons of quality in its 90-minute run time. Also: lots of costumes to unlock, cheat codes after you beat it, ranked playthroughs, and an achievement for beating it in under 15-minutes. Plenty to do in such a small game.
Is this game scary? Meh Should you give it a chance? y e (Bth, I got scared by some jumpscares and disorientation, but in the end of game I was more annoyed. Still great game)
Charming little horror game, really enjoyed it.
If you grew up enjoying classic survival horror games and more specifically Silent Hill you'll love this game! The atmosphere as well as the visuals capture that PS1 style that gives everything that gritty/nostalgic look. The puzzles are simple, but fun (I always enjoy games that want you to pull out a note pad to write down passwords and passcodes!) which makes the pacing of the game consistent. Also it has loads of unlockables which includes costumes ( I love the fact you can look like a certain SH3 character ;P ) and a harder difficulty option which adds replayability. For $5.99 you absolutely can't go wrong!
