The game had a real potential, it truely did. Its gameplay was interesting, its graphics were uncommon, its musics were captivating and you'd get deep in the mood real quick. When I first saw this in early access, I couldn't wait for it to be released. But alas, it failed to reach its own objective by casualizing its view and making it as simple as good, sometimes neutral and bad. This game, above all else, was supposed to give you a morale, to show you that you make choices, sometimes not understanding them on the first hand, then come to realize their consequences later on, or even immediately. But as other reviewers have pointed it out, the morale becomes as simple as "war is bad", and you can't really get in the mood when you realize that the whole point of the game is to tell you not to be racist, to help elderly people in the street and not to be a nice little person. The writing is poor, and I'm really saddened to write this as I was taken by some levels during the early access so bad I'd play them over and over just to get into it again, but not anymore. To summarize : ** Pros ** -Interesting graphics -Good music that puts you right in the mood -A starting idea that could've gone very far ** Cons ** -Very short game -Terrible writing -Ok-ish gameplay at best
Also kurz gesagt, einige Türen und Wege abklappern. Neutral :)
This is everything I wanted when I played the demo version. Some of the puzzles make you think and others are straightforward; just like life. The developers did a good at making the game both general and relatable.
Wow This game has deep meaning to me as i can relate to alot of the story really hit me hard good game
I remember when Way of Life Demo was out, and it was a solid story about, well, the ways of life. When I finally saw this in my library (I definitely didn't buy it so I assume I got it for free?) I wanted to try it, and holy hell was this quite a thing. I haven't done a whole lot obviously, (as of the time of writing this I have only 1.3 hours entirely, but it was enough to 100% the romance door) but what I have played of it so far is really nice when it comes to its style and story. Problem solving and common sense are definite parts of the way of life, and they can be applied here too. Pretty good game!
A narrative based walking simulator with some puzzles and minigames thrown in and a lot of moralizing. You play as three different characters, a young boy, an adult, and an old man and play through different experiences in their life. Sometimes you're given choices, usually are you going to be a decent human being or are you going to be a complete piece of a ♥♥♥♥, that will color the ending you get. The gameplay was pretty even, and I thought the choices were a bit silly, for example once of the choices is
"Do you go with your wife, a refugee from a war torn country who endured horrific things before meeting you and now you have a child together, to see her dying father in her home country, or do you stay home because you have a work meeting?" Leading up to that choice was a long series of events showing the hardships your wife endured and how hard her life was, and the work meeting is not even mentioned until the moment you have to make the choice. lol.
But it also had some well-written moments and I enjoyed it enough to play the whole thing through.
