About
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with Onbu to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world.
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over Onbu’s back. Plan production chains and optimise them to utilise the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with Onbu and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Continuously adapt your village as you travel through a multitude of different biomes, each with its unique climate zones, opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artefacts.
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

Its a good challenging colony builder. It has the same intimacy as Frostpunk in terms of managing and optimizing the village to survive, which makes is not common. The story is nice, and the endgame is fun. The randomness of the map and various hazards rewards you for anticipating it and preparing ahead of time, just like in Surviving Mars (before they crippled it). The hard mode does offer some challenge, and I'm very much planning to replay it with extra punishing modifiers.
A nice little city builder with a nice story, good soundtrack. I would encourage to play it. 10/10 And i am already hyped for the DLC. :D

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

How do I even start with this game? I have played this game just about since its release. The evolution of the mechanics and design is nothing but beautiful. If you are reading through the reviews and come across mine I rate this game 12/10. Can be cozy and relaxing or intense and engaging, which ever you prefer. I hope as time passes this game progresses further and further. While it is a single-player, it could be really cool if co-op could be eventually integrated were you could play and resource manage with a friend(s).
it good
This game is such a unique experience with its novel mechanics for a city builder. The tutorial is pretty intuitive and effectively teaches you the basics of the game at the start. The compendium is also a easy guide to resources collection without having to look up tutorials. The art style is reminiscent of Studio Ghibli and Onbu is just such a cute and majestic creature. I love that the game gives us the choice to either befriend our Onbu or exploit it for all its worth in expense of its trust. I would definitely recommend this game base on what I've said so far. I guess my only gripe with this game is how you have to literally micromanage everything when it comes to your villagers. Its a pro or a con depending on the person playing. It's just something to look out for before purchasing. Also, the happiness system that enables you to attract new villagers to your village is kinda unforgiving at times. I wish it were a bit easier to maintain and improve the happiness of your villagers without really relying as much on exploiting the inner workings of the game mechanics to do so. But all in all, still a recommended game for people who like city building but in a fun and unique way, and also micromanaging a lot of stuff.
Tremenda dino joya! c:
This was a fast obsession for me - it's so beautifully designed with the artwork and it's so easy to get pulled into it. I've finished the story and am already back achievement hunting which is uncommon for me. The story was touching and I cannot wait to play again and again.
My first purchase and I'm glad it was. TWV provides a pleasant experience where you can choose wether to be a better kind of human that those of times past or exploit nature like those that ruined the ecosystem before you. The graphics are not my usual cup of tea but I enjoyed them regardless. The ambience music fits the storyline. While the amount of deaths along the way seemed a little unnecessary for the storytelling, at no point did I get bored of the dialogues or the cutscenes. So far, the only bump in the road for me has been managing the resources without a production/consumption indicator. I will sometimes run out of wood and go on a wild goose chase trying to figure out which building is using the wood apart from the carpenter or at the beginning I'd be needing an insecticide and having to click every tab trying to figure out which of the labs makes it. I recommend this game to everyone who wants to take their time building and balancing a symbiotic relationship with the Onbu, because speed running this would be a tragedy.
