About
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with Onbu to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world.
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over Onbu’s back. Plan production chains and optimise them to utilise the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with Onbu and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Continuously adapt your village as you travel through a multitude of different biomes, each with its unique climate zones, opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artefacts.
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

i have played a lot of city builders in my life and this one is the first one to ever have a compelling AND good story. this is the only time i've ever thought of actually "beating" a city builder and the only time after finishing a city i felt there was more to do/replay for. the story is excellent and the game has fantastic animation and art. graphics are great, the city(and flying units) moving on top of the 3d creature is super cool and has definitely never been done. emotional... city building itself is good BUT there are a few things i struggled with like trying to find my own buildings at points. i.e, other city builders would highlight buildings for specific tasks or when you're about to place another. pretty small thing though. other than that this is very active, whereas other city builders you tend to just put stuff down and forgot about it. i found myself interacting with a lot of farms and stuff repeatedly to properly conserve and use resources when combined with the humidity/biome mechanics. very cool. on normal difficulty its not TOO active so you can still eat food and play one handed. its still very chill regardless, but i wasnt playing on hard mode. overall, super unique and relaxed game. if you've played city builders you would have no problem getting into it but there may be a slight learning curve as some things are different. such as the entire game taking place on one zone that might be considered smaller than other city builders, or there being no rotation. these two things enhance the game rather than hurt it so i suggest just playing to experience those things. overall super good great game. i got it on sale for like $13 and played for around 20 hours. i say its completely worth it. i might suggest waiting for a sale but im cheap. $13 on sale + a replay when the dlc comes out sounds like a good purchase to me. replay value is there but after doing the story i feel pretty drained, which is typically how story games go.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Another city builder, and as someone who likes most games in this genre, this one caught my eye for its premise: you're building your city on the back of a giant wandering creature. It sounds like it should completely change the formula, but in practice it plays a lot like a normal city builder with that idea layered on top rather than reinventing the genre. That said, the twist is genuinely enjoyable. Managing the relationship with the creature you're living on — keeping it healthy while it carries your people across a toxic world — adds a layer that regular city builders don't have, even if the core building and resource-management loop underneath is familiar territory. If you like city builders and want one with a fresh hook without a huge learning curve, this one's worth it.
A game about the symbiotic relationship between a village and the living host it's built on as they traverse a world corrupted by dangerous fungus. I played the campaign mode and loved every minute of it. The game does present a lot of challenges in terms of surviving the various events (weather, fungus, parasites, etc) and keeping all parties alive/happy. But once I learned those systems managing them wasn't overly difficult. The end game is quite the trial though. I strongly recommend saving when the game warns you about entering the final phase, you may need to roll back to prepare more before a second attempt. If you want a base/colony building game with survival pressure and a unique premise this one is fantastic.
Just the cutest game ever. I started this for the city building and ressource management aspect, but the storyline was surprisingly cute and heartbreaking and gorgeous! Love everything and will spend many more ours with onbu and this game!
It's just a nice game. Beware of Toxic! Otherwise you will wipe after a few hours ;-)
Recomendado

Its a good challenging colony builder. It has the same intimacy as Frostpunk in terms of managing and optimizing the village to survive, which makes is not common. The story is nice, and the endgame is fun. The randomness of the map and various hazards rewards you for anticipating it and preparing ahead of time, just like in Surviving Mars (before they crippled it). The hard mode does offer some challenge, and I'm very much planning to replay it with extra punishing modifiers.
