About
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with Onbu to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world.
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over Onbu’s back. Plan production chains and optimise them to utilise the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with Onbu and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Continuously adapt your village as you travel through a multitude of different biomes, each with its unique climate zones, opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artefacts.
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

i would NEVER reccomend this game AT FULL PRICE. If there was a third option that said maybe or whatnot instead of yes or no i would be clicking that, but its WAY too short for the $40 price tag. the gameplay is fairly easy even on the challenge run with 9 points of challenges on (max is 25), its fairly basic and simple gameplay too. The story mode is also way too short and while it is somewhat heartwarming its told in a basic way. Also there is NO FLIPPING WAY you can tell me the graphics cost any significant amount of money given its largely cleverly made 2d images that turn with the camera. TLDR: Its charming and its a decent game but GET IT ON SALE only worth $20 tops.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I was very conflicted about this review. Mind you; i've been with the game since the alpha. Honestly; this game just gets boring. Everything just feels like a job. You learn a tech; take forever to gather resources to build it, then you build it. That's it. Until you finish the quest line which is just a glorified tech upgrade tutorial that makes you build unnecessary things that you don't want to build anyway like the machine to hurt the Onbu for not listening. Then there is the ending which the game doesn't prepare you for at all. Literally just because the game goes from survival to wave based defender that relies on your resources in advance. The reward for getting to the end by the way? You get to build 3 monuments. 3 monuments soooo massive that you actually can't build them on the Onbu by that point without destroying half of your build. They also give a buff to your housing in a circular radius which means the housing has to be built around the monument. The challenge mode you can't even fully do without surviving 1000km with half the modifiers first. It's like Vermintide 2 locking a higher difficulty behind a paywall except this is a playwall. This game just wants you to play it but the charm and fun of it just dies too fast. There are much better survival civ building games out there and you are better off spending the money on one of those instead of a half-hearted project like this. The art is beautiful though. Even if the music is limited and repeats non-stop. Also; will always love Onbu and will forever pet him and never use its blood or bile for food because that's just dumb.
原来我会玩资源规划类啊!
as a city builder its a nice game. but its simple I would rather play another city building game or another roguelike. this game doesn't satisfy either for me. I mean living on a big creature is cool and all but gameplay wise it doesn't really add much to the experience. Of course its another strategic layer that will deepen your decisions, but it could be something else and the game would almost still feel the same after getting used to the 'cool I am living on this thing' I enjoyed the start of this game but it lost its flair very quickly for me.
its ok. I find myself waiting alot and wondering if Im enjoying my time
TLDR: I played Wandering Villiage and Timberborn pretty much back to back, and comparing them is probably the easiest way to review this one. This game is WAY better than Timberborn, if you actually want to play a real complete video game, and not just a demo that got popular in early release and they were just like, eh, good enough. Wandering Village could use some real quality of life upgrades (please explain to me why we can't rotate buildings in a village sim), and unless you're into "challenge" mode there's probably not a lot of re-playability. However, it does feel like a complete, albeit somewhat light, game. There's a story. There are objectives that tie into that story. Research leads to real changes in the wellbeing of Onbu and the villiagers. I actually cared what happened to my village, and intrinsically wanted it to be good. As best as I could figure in Timberborn the "goal" was to keep researching and growing your village till you could replace all your fleshy beavers with robots... But that's purely speculation, because it's just a building sim with no story, objectives, or goal of any kind, but to build all the types of buildings. I was holding out hope till the last one to see if we were ever going to really do something interesting to "fix" the world, but... Nope. The only thing that compelled me to care about my village at all was that they were cute little beavers, and my own OCD need for an optimized layout. I will say Timberborn is a bit more challenging in the base game, if you're into that, but not as challenging as Factorio or something that really does push your resource management limits. So, I'm not sure the challenge really adds anything but a lot of tedious waiting around for stuff to finish. I played Timberborn much longer, so I guess there's something to be said for getting your monies worth, but I resented playing it, because I knew it wasn't really going to pay off in anyway other than my village being aesthetically pleasing. Where as with Wandering village I played through the story at a comfortable, well paced rate, and then got to go back and optimize in ways that really mattered. So... Thank you Wandering Village, for getting what itches a game needs to scratch to feel satisfying, and not just putting out "yet another building sim" that pretends to be "cozy" because the characters are "cute" and has no real substance.
Espectacular en todos los sentidos. Bravo!
