Dear friends, and developers. I'v encountered a problem in several games, most recently The VR Museum..... The problem is that I am handicaped and confined to a chair. When I run TVMFA I find myself with my head, eye level, in the counter. with no way to move using the controllers. When I spent the money to move up to VR, I had hopes of experiencing things, like this museum, even though I could not physically be present. Most of the VR games I have used expext me to be able to move physically (I.E. HEAD. HANDS) instead of providing controller, or keyboard, interface for movement. Hope this helps to make your product more successful, PS.. why not start a "HANDICAP ACCESABLE" label for your tours once they are fixed. I would be happy to serve as a product tester/representative for handicaped VR users. Rev. Gary Utz (retired)
This is fantastic! It captures the feel of being in a museum perfectly, there is a surprising amount of content given that it is free too. Definitely one to demo to friends and family.

Probably one of the few times you can get really close to an art exhibit without a security guard telling you to stop.
I found another free VR gem browsing Steam. I love this because it really feels just like you're in a fine art museum. The level of detail to the paintings is incredible. You can see the individual brush strokes, the texture of the canvas, and the cracks in the paint from time. I even stopped and read every single one of the descriptions so I could learn more and I learned things I never knew before. The statue of David is particularly fascinating. I can't recommend this enough. Go to a fine art museum without leaving your house! If you don't have VR or are not planning on diving into it soon you can see a quick tour in two parts below. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2753304443 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2753304446
It's literally a virtual museum with scanned 3D statues. Good enough for a nice experience. (Played with HTC Vive Cosmos)
Sadly I am on Oculus which it says is compatible but.... it is not. I reloaded the game a few times, tried troubleshooting but I think there was a mistake somewhere that isn't allowing me to move unless it is within my own play space (physically walking around the room). I am stuck in the entrance with everything behind me. I have enough play space room that I was able to grab a pamphlet and walk just into the entrance but I cannot actually roam or do anything else via the oculus controls. I think I would have really enjoyed this had I actually been allowed to enter. I love art and museums :(
Either the game doesn't work with Quest (which is 75% of Steam vr market share...) or the controls are so completely absurd that I was unable co figure them out.
Played On: HTC Vive
The VR Museum of Fine Art delivers just what it says it does; 1:1 scale fine art pieces for your viewing pleasure. The developer even added a second floor, which is mostly full of paintings but also has some additional stone and marble crafted pieces as well. Each piece of art has its own title, description, and history so those that are unfamiliar with them can learn about what they're viewing. All of the renders are incredibly life-like, and house even the most subtle of details. All the more impressive, this game was single-handedly crafted by a highschool student who managed to fundraise $2,000 to afford a VR ready PC and a Vive headset. (S)he took suggestions from students on their most requested art pieces, and sourced all of the sculptures, history, and information for each one. This was certainly an ambitious endeavor, one that I couldn't have even fathomed doing during my highschool years. Overall, The VR Museum of Fine Art is a good demo of what future educational virtual reality games may have in store. Getting to see priceless masterpieces up close and personal, with their potmarks, chips, and aged degradation is something that dreams are made of for art lovers. The experience is a little short, and the gallery itself is a bit plain looking. The choice of white walls is especially questionable, since many of the statues are white(ish). Still, if you're a fan of fine art, it's worth taking a look at. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Follow Third group
English: Another museum visit is on the cards, or wait! In fact, by VR standards, it's a historic visit to a museum from 2016, when Finn Sinclair invited us to the VR Museum of Fine Art. Let's see how the exhibition presents itself almost 8 years later. Well, not so good. First of all, nothing works in the museum without a Vive controller. At the beginning, we have to take an information flyer to start the program and teleport through a security gate. I was able to take the info flyer in the foyer, but teleporting with the index controllers is not possible. There are no other movements. There isn't even a snapturn or any other settings. So I dusted off the old "Vive walls" especially for the journey into the past. The museum has aged very badly, it's not just the modern controls that are missing. At a snack stand we can discover something like an options menu, but I didn't notice any effects on inputs. There are no interactions other than grabbing the info flyer. An elevator that takes us to the second floor starts up automatically as soon as you stay in it for a short time. Last but not least, the exhibits have unfortunately all been photographed using 3D scanning technology, which was certainly accurate at the time but is too poor today, so we should not get too close to the exhibits. The statues are unfortunately not in very high resolution. The paintings, on the other hand, are bursting with clarity. It's a shame that the sculptures don't look as good. The VR Museum of Fine Art can only be entered with the Vive bones, better stay at home. A badly aged museum program from 2016. 👀More clear art, just on🎊 my curator page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Follow Third group
