Reviews
A great retro-style game with a good little bit of replayablity as it has different endings and a section were you can choose one of two paths to follow. Also! Bodyworks suck! This has always been true but the one here is the worst.
Enjoying so far, the lack of a map helps a lot to adding confusion and you wonder if you're actually where you think you're at, i will say with where i'm at, a certain item you obtain in the 3rd exhibit has such a long wind up that it feels like it wasn't even a good idea to acquire it, but other than that i highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a slow but steady burn in this genre

Found out about this game six years ago and I was really excited to finally give it a try. Happy to report that it's a fun and enjoyable experience! The Third Shift is packed with a healthy amount of retro game jank that serves to both sell the feeling of playing a Game Boy game and add to the horror. My favorite example is the shifting camera angles. Most of the game is played through the lens of a security camera, meaning you'll have to adjust course as the perspective changes between rooms and hallways. Annoying at first, but it makes the already off-atmosphere all the more disorienting. Avoiding danger becomes extra hectic, and it's really effective in making you feel like a new hire learning your way around your workplace. The game also doesn't hold your hand. If you're a completionist, expect to run through this game a couple times. Traps are quietly set throughout that will lock you in and out of certain endings. Solve puzzles quick and be careful what choices you make (and where). As far as negatives go, I wasn't crazy about some of the choices in the story for starters, but that's just me. The disorienting atmosphere paired with some time/reaction based challenges also teetered slightly into annoyance every now and then. The fixed save point system also created situations in my run where minigames would be followed by a chase which led to having to re-do minigames many times over. All things considered, I had a great time with this game. It's clearly had a lot of love poured into it. If you're intrigued with the story and want to see every last detail, you'll have hours of fun with this game.
