The Original Moorhuhn Hunt

[h1]Spielbewertung von TrophyHunter[/h1] Nachdem ich nun erneut dieses Game, aus nostalgischen Gründen, eine Weile gespielt habe, möchte ich jetzt meine Eindrücke und meine Meinung diesbezüglich mit euch teilen. Das Spiel "Die Original Moorhuhnjagd", welches vom Entwicklerstudio "Higgs Games GmbH" entwickelt wurde, ist ein klassischer Arcade-Shooter, der vor allem durch seinen einfachen, aber spaßigen Spielstil bekannt geworden ist. Ziel ist es, innerhalb eines bestimmten Zeitlimits möglichst viele Moorhühner abzuschießen und dabei eine hohe Punktzahl zu erreichen. Je weiter ein Moorhuhn entfernt ist, umso mehr Punkte erhält man dafür. Das Gameplay ist recht simpel, weshalb man ohne große Einlernphase direkt loslegen und versuche kann, seinen Highscore immer weiter zu verbessern. Grafisch ist das Spiel natürlich deutlich in die Jahre gekommen, was jedoch überhaupt nicht negativ auffällt. Eher im Gegenteil, gerade der einfache Stil trägt stark zum Charme des Spiels bei und unterstreicht den nostalgischen Charakter. Die Soundeffekte und die gesamte Atmosphäre sorgen dafür, dass man sich direkt an frühere Zeiten erinnert. Der größte Pluspunkt ist jedoch in meinen Augen ganz klar der bereits erwähnte Nostalgiefaktor. Viele Spieler werden das Spiel noch aus früheren Zeiten kennen, sei es von alten PCs oder aus dem Büroalltag. Genau dieses Gefühl wird hier perfekt eingefangen und sorgt dafür, dass man immer wieder gerne zurückkehrt. Das Spiel besitzt inzwischen sogar 9 Errungenschaften und kostet rund 3€, was ich allein schon für den Nostalgiefaktor, in Ordnung finde. Ich persönlich hatte mit "Die Original Moorhuhnjagd" viel Spaß. Es ist kein komplexes Spiel, aber genau das macht es zudem was es nun ist. Es wird einem hier ein schnelles, unkompliziertes und einfach unterhaltsames Game geboten. Für alle, die auf der Suche nach purer Nostalgie sind, kann ich das Spiel definitiv empfehlen. [b]PROS:[/b] + simple retro gameplay + added global score board [b]CONS:[/b] - problem with multi-monitor setups - missing local score board - profile visibility is restricted for this game [b]Comment:[/b] Originally designed as an advertisement for the Johnnie Walker whiskey brand in 1998. It used to ship with pre-build PCs and that is exactly how I encountered it for the first time all those years ago. Although, unfortunately for it, at the same time I got to it's [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/artibius/recommended/3356350/]sequel[/url] which is much more varied and fun. Still, this is the OG and deserves respect for starting the Moorhuhn / Chicken Shoot franchise. Gameplay is basic - shoot as many chicken (and two other items) as you can in a minute and a half to get the highest score. Devs added internet leaderboards but back then it used to just be a local one, arcade style just a few letters. I like the new one but a choice for a local one would be nice to compete with my family on the same PC. Also, there are cheaters at the top of the online ones, unfortunately. A bug I found was that the cursor/game gets stuck when clicking out of bounds in multi-monitor setups and sadly there is no option to limit cursor to main game window. The setup options as a whole are lacking. Kids (that are okay with "shooting" chicken) will enjoy this since each round is short. You can get in and out for a quick session. Unlike the sequel, this one truly is just to shoot as much as you can while avoiding planes / balloons / signs. So no real strategy, just reflexes. All the whiskey ads are stripped away and the crosshair is different than it was. But otherwise it is exactly shot-for-shot (he he) the way it was. Probably one of the worst games ever made. The port looks terrible, it actually hurts my eyes. The scoring system sucks. Also moorhuhn is a LOSER and no one likes him.... Screw moorhuhn.
