brillant game
interesting
A part of me is disappointed that the game's philosophical questions didn't stick with me as much as they probably should've, but that's more of a personal thing. The game conveys its ideas about what makes us ...us and consciousness pretty well. I had a good time with the puzzles; they had a good difficulty curve and gave you enough wiggle room to cheese them in small ways, which is even somewhat required to get all of the stars. Although I felt like some of the mechanics weren't fully utilized. Guess that's what the DLC is for. It's kinda wild that Croteam made this, considering how shaky their Serious Sam games usually turn out. There's just that extra bit of polish that I'm not used to from them. Except for maybe the audio balancing, those waterfalls are twice as loud as they probably should be.
A philosophical puzzle game where you can legitimately filter out and ignore all that philosophical BS if you so wish. As a pure puzzle game, it's pretty fun and can get pretty evil on its tricks and traps. It is also perfectly okay with 'outside of the box' thinking and will sometimes require it for some of its more 'esoteric' puzzles. Sometimes you might smuggle puzzle elements out of their native puzzles to solve puzzles out in the world. Other times you might find a completely unintended method of solving a puzzle. Just have fun with it and push what the game allows to its limit. For narrative, which it does have one, I can't really say anything on it because it's all high spoilers except for two details: You are a robot and you're being directed by a god-like voice in the 'sky' to solve puzzles. Prove to the big guy that you are more than just a simple problem solving machine.
This masterpiece is in the hall of fame for puzzle games dare I say right next to Portal 2. If you're looking for a pure puzzle game experience then look no further. It's difficult but oh so rewarding after finally figuring out a solution to a puzzle that took you a half an hour. Accompanying the gameplay is its quite complex and rich story that will have you scrathing your head questioning your entire existence. TLDR: a must buy for any puzzle game enthusiast.
Very good puzzle game, didnt care much about the story since i couldnt be bothered reading the walls of texts. Gameplay wise it was very entertaining, especially the stars. Trying to find where they are not so much, but solving them was a blast. Didnt really have a single boring minute playing this, highly recommend. 4/5
