About

The Idol was lost — but not forgotten. In this followup to the award winning detective game The Case of the Golden Idol, you are an observer that must investigate 20 strange cases of crime, death and depravity - all somehow connected. Use your detective skills to make sense of a grand mystery that unfolds across an age of hallucinogens, disco, fax machines and parapsychology.

Two hundred years after the unspeakable fate of the Cloudsley family, the Idol's legend lives on only in whispers and myth… but some are determined for this to change. Discover the mysterious forces connecting a tenacious treasure hunter, a team of scientists, the members of an enlightenment-seeking cult and corporate profiteers drawn to the all-powerful artifact.

The Rise of the Golden Idol is a new type of detective game where you freely explore each crime scene at your own pace, using logic to build your own theories. Click to collect clues and analyze each discovery to determine what happened, why, and who was responsible.

Convicted prisoners, new age cult leaders, corporate middle management and many more figures have a role to play in the wider mystery that unfolds — each driven by their own agenda. Scour each scene for key details to put names to faces and deduce their motives.

A reworked interface lets you quickly gather key terms from observations and witness testimonies, greatly expanding the depth and variety of each scenario. Upon the conclusion of each chapter, a new type of puzzle lets you revisit past deductions, recap the events of these interconnected cases, and investigate the threads that unify them.

虽然因为语言问题有些小卡顿,但综合来说是一部玩完希望可以失忆再玩一遍的神作。
Great game! Congratulations to the developers!

A tour de force. Please give us another! I would settle on a new series with this same gameplay and deductions that involve murder of the weeks or tracking down a serial killer. Maybe make the last bit a twist where the serial killer is somehow connected to the Golden Idol universe.
After playing the first game I was so happy there was a second game to play. Dare I say I enjoyed this one just a tad more than the first? Great roll overs from the first game into this one while keeping the story fresh and moving forward. I loved the puzzles in this one. Some puzzles really had my brain working to the point of smoking at parts, but that's the fun of it! I wish that there was an achievement for not using hints at all for both games because I never once used a hint and then I realized I had literally fried my brain for zero achievement lol but that's ok, I can just pat myself on the back. Fantastic 2nd installment to the golden idol games and I hope there will eventually be a 3rd! 20/10
Satisfying story. Good puzzles.
7/10 ... Get it on sale. Not the same enjoyment of the first, which is dissappointing because the world is so much more interesting in this one. I'm already addicted to this damn idol and it's journey. They did/do a really good job of keeping me hooked with the really cool world building, The story is good too, but the game itself is mehh +. The art style IS fantastic, but seems as if a lot was done with AI, and then someone forgot to double check everything. It's not the most cohesive experience. I will finish and still buy the DLC when that price drops. Hard to post screenshots to explain, but I've had to look some things up that I shouldn't have. The most frustrating is the inconsistencies of the scene images of characters not matching the "name board" or other media that they are also found in (silhouettes/shadows of the characters). To me, logic games shouldn't purposely throw you off by changing multiple character's appearance in the same scene just to "add mystique"
