The Rise of the Golden Idol

和第一部相比内容量大管饱了很多，推理也更加本格，大多数场景逻辑盘下来都蛮通顺 以及感谢民间汉化，繁中实在太难懂....

Excellent deduction game and well worth playing. Ads some new puzzle ideas compared to the first game, which are hit-and-miss. Greatly expands the game world lore and has a really compelling story. Make sure to play the DLC as well.

A genuine blast and big improvement over the already great Case of the Golden Idol (more fun and polished art, better UI and UX that gets less in the way of the art and makes the process of solving the puzzles faster and more convenient, and stronger writing that emphasizes characters even more). It's an absolute joy to piece together seemingly unrelated events throughout multiple points in history and slowly gain an understanding. The puzzles are varied, and entirely solvable - even if occasionally they might seem overwhelming at first. And if you're ever stuck, the hints in the game work well. Great game to play with a partner, too! PS: The "Detective Pass" DLC is an essential purchase alongside the main game - not that it doesn't stand alone well or get a proper resolution to its story, because it does! - but it just expands the world of the game wonderfully and adds so many more delightful brainteasers.

The Rise of Golden Idol is a fantastic continuation of the series! My favourite part of Golden Idol series is this crazy stylish artstyle with beautiful backgrounds and weird characters. The music is also great and puts you in the right mood to investigate. The best part of the game are, of course, puzzles. In comparison to the first game puzzles became more intricate, more difficult and more diverse. Some of them are tedious and hard to understand even with the hints. I'm not a native english speaker so there is always this thing with the games like this where I can't figure out if I'm wrong or if my english is bad. But that didn't soar my overall impression of the game. It's great and I enjoyed every mystery that was in the story (I also played the additional content in Detective Pass). The Case of Golden Idol (the main game, not DLC) is still in my opinion better in balancing story and puzzles without complicating everything, but I definetely recommend The Rise of Golden Idol!

A worthy sequel to the original. The main game is worth the list price, but get the Detective Pass on sale: some of the DLC are excellent but a couple require too much guesswork to be as enjoyable as the main story is.
