Camera height is way off and can't fix it
un reve de gosse fantastique
Im genuinely surprised this game has "mostly positive" reviews. I experienced all the issues listed in other negative reviews. Massive stuttering in certain scenes or menues, head height is crazy tall with no way to change it. Not even so much as a seated or standing toggle. The AI is laughable. Also I managed to leave my ship when I clearly wasnt supposed to and ended up behind the set. The sailors on your ship and the enemy ship are "almost" completely static with the absolute barest of animation. I don't know what else to say... I dont recommend it at all.
Not a bad game at all so far. Still have a lot more to play and figure out, but so far the game plays relatively smooth and graphics look really good. I opened it first in Steam VR and its a janky mess. Screen shutters when you move your head...and I was standing but the game had me high above everything. I switched to the Oculus VR mode and the game ran just fine, no issues at all. I am using Virtual Desktop in case other players have the same app. Looking forward to playing more and experiencing cave diving and other aspects. I sailed around and only found ports to stop at...need to figure out how to make gold. I did have a sea battle with Anne Bonnie and won...that's a ton of fun! EDIT: After trying to get missions or even make money...the game has 0 direction in that regards...refunded.
ufff i refunded but bought again, game has problems but is unique, please make better much potential
Heavily inspired by Sid Meier's Pirates! you command a pirate fleet sinking ships steal/trading cargo, exploring caves, pirate camps and sunken wrecks to build up the free pirate city of Nassau. Its good if a little indie at times but given the small team thats too be expected. the only real draw back is its much like Sid Meier's game mechanically it might feel a little dated to some, but also a little grindy, which feels a little more tedious when in a VR headset imo. but also it means you can play it for quite a while
if your a player kindly ignore this portion. if you are a dev i believe i found a site you would thoroughly love to aid in adding more shanties to your game https://www.musicai.ai/ai-music-generator honest oppinion. its not a terrible AI song site.... since you guys use AI shanties thought it might help o7 ---------------------------^^^^^^^^^^^^EDIT^^^^^^^^^^^^^------------------------------------ Put about 7 hours into The Pirate: Republic of Nassau. The sailing and ship handling feel pretty nice — you can run around the deck or switch to third-person like Assassin's Creed Black Flag/Rogue. Boarding enemy ships is fun and feels properly pirate-y, but you only end up fighting like 3 guys, which is a bit underwhelming. Naval combat is finicky at times but still gives me that Black Flag vibe I enjoy. Treasure diving and caves are solid, the economy is jank but workable, and the sea shanties are genuinely lovely. Nassau building is meh since you can't interact with most buildings. Fleet management is disappointing too — you can only bring 2 support ships even though you have 20 docked 'merchant ships' with non-pirate captains, which kinda defeats the whole pirate fleet fantasy. It's a good game that clearly has heart and needs some more hands that enjoy the work to really shine. Still worth checking out if you love pirate VR, especially for the sailing and those excellent shanties. Yo ho ho! keep up the lovely work devs o7 but perhaps allow a option to sail from where you are on the map? spawn random ships out in the waters?
This is a hard meh.... If it were basically Sea Dogs or Caribbean Legends (as of late) it would be a lot cooler. Alas, it is merely bleh..
