The Night of the Rabbit

Good if on a steep Steam sale or for a 20-hour casual adventure. I can see this being for a younger audience, for sure. There's no real danger or consequences, unlike most other point-and-click adventure games. Be careful when saving or loading the game, as the UX is a bit horrible. I lost a chunk of progress because there was no auto-save and I accidentally hit load instead of save. The beginning and end felt tacked on as if the budget ran out, but the rest of the game was pretty decent and the voice acting was good overall. The puzzles weren't too puzzling--I only got stuck a few times and looked up some gradual hints to get me unstuck, so only a couple of puzzles weren't intuitive. Overall, worth the $2.50 I got it for 90% off. I usually buy games with longer playtime, so at that price and over 20 hours on log, I feel I got my money's worth.

What a treat! Can't believe this title sat in my library for 10 years gathering dust. A proper point&click adventure game, interesting story, beautiful art, fun characters, great voice acting. Also, I loved the card game. I could play it in real life :D My only complaint: As per usual in Daedalic adventures, sometimes the next step isn't logical or easy to figure out. The lack of in-game hints is a bit annoying, as looking for tips online/in guides sometimes spoils a few next steps. So you either walk around and try everything on everything, wasting time, or search for help outside the game, risking spoilers.

A captivating, enchanting, magical adventure from start to finish, evoking nostalgia for childhood and conveying the essence of the imaginary adventures that lived within. I don't even care if it sounds pretentious, it was fantastic. The built-in hint system, which thankfully you get access to fairly quickly, helped when I got a bit lost; a few puzzles weren't very clear to me, but the power of brute-forcing inventory combinations never fails. If you don't hate point-and-click adventures, give this a try. Top marks.
