TLDR: This is a Daedalic Point and Click Adventure. So unless you like banging your head against the desk wishing the developers had mentioned what substances may have been about during the development of this game while the moon was full, use a walkthrough. Unless you like banging your head against a desk, then have at it. That being said, this is a well done PAC game. The story is good and funny in places. The graphics are cartoony and well done, almost like a picture book, even 13 years later. The voice acting is also well done. The music can be sparse but what is there does add too the feeling of the game. It can get a little loud during the story bits so subtitles might be helpful. This is also a Daedalic game so while on the surface it seems like it is mostly a light hearted adventure, it probably won’t take older players long to figure out that Mr. Churchmouse retired long before the events of the game. While I won’t say it’s not for kids, I will say it does have a few “Oh” moments if your paying attention though, they are not done with a sledge hammer. Definitely worth a play if you like these games or if you want to experience the story with a walkthrough. Story: Jeremiah “Jerry” Hazelnut is your normal 12 year old boy living in the country circa the 1940’s with his mother and no mention of his father. He has 2 days until school starts and is determined to pack as much adventure as he can into them. Though he feels there is something missing he presses ahead with his plan to become a great magician to defeat his greatest fear: The return of the feared “Gremlin Wolf”. Though this time, the waning days of summer turn out to be different. Though Jerry believed magic to be real, he begins to hear and see things that are not ordinary. A radio broadcast that seems to specifically tell him what he already going to do, just that he’s doing it in a strange way, overlarge foot prints outside his window… almost as if something was watching him and most startling of all a letter that appears out of thin air that delivers itself into the families mailbox in front of his stunned eyes. Being a fearless magician in training Jerry of course opens it. The letter contains a set of instructions to summon… something, though its not clear what it will be summoning. No matter. Such a task promises great adventure and the Great, still in training, Wizard Jerry Hazelnut is up to the task. What he ends up summoning though is a giant chest with a top hat, a wand and a tall human shaped talking rabbit. One that promises him that he can teach him to be a wizard in two days as wizards aren’t beholden to the laws of time as most are. Though the rabbit, The Marquis, seems to be a bit confused himself as to what is going on, he and Jerry set off to Mousewood to begin their adventure. The past is a hard thing to shake and it haunts both the Marquis and Jerry even though neither are aware of it for different reasons. Every step taken in Jerry’s quest seems to bring him closer and closer to something that the Marquis allies are evasive about. What did that giant talking rabbit do that they seem so uncomfortable around him? Why did they think that there would never be another apprentice? Play to find out! My thoughts: Pretty much what I put in the TLDR. Its a good story that does have a few curve balls and really does convey that while Jerry is having the adventure of a lifetime there is a few things going on under the surface that a 12 year old probably shouldn’t have to deal with. Whether this is a story “that is better with animals, because stories are always better with animals” I don’t know. It’s kind of left up to interpretation in the end. As far as the game play goes, everything works fine. The puzzles can bring things to a grinding halt though as sometimes it felt like the only way to make any progress was to click everything in the inventory on everything including the inventory. Then of course whatever it was would make perfect sense. The game also has several collectibles that serve as a find the hidden object mini games. If these are completed the player is rewarded with extra lore that provides more insight into what exactly is going on. There is also apparently a continuation of the story that was done in the form of podcasts between the release of this game and about 2016. They were done by one of the games writers and put out on spotify. Google says they still exist but I did not look them up to verify. Game is worth a play, with a walk through, and it goes on sale pretty regularly. Give it a shot.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

An excellent game that has become a classic of the genre. The perfect balance between story and achievement hunting. I recommend it even to those who aren't fans of click-and-point games. It's worth your time.
The Night of the Rabbit is a cute little summer adventure by Daedalic Entertainment. I always wonder if they smoke something before coming up with a game, because their games cannot be more different (Deponia, Edna, Satinav). The art style is cute and the puzzles are good. Overall, I really liked the game and the story it told, but the quartet achievement can eat a bag of d****.
great game with an amazing and inspiring storyline. It not only deals with fantasy problems, it also deals with
the consequences of human exploitation and pollution
. the designs are amazing and the way you see all the storylines connecting is very nicely done, leading to an ending that you couldn't really have imagined from the start. honestly can't wait until I no longer remember this game so I get to experience it like the first time :)

The Night of the Rabbit delivers an enchanting, deeply atmospheric point-and-click adventure that beautifully captures the whimsical wonder and hidden darkness of classic children's fantasy literature. The core concept centers on a young boy fulfilling his dream of becoming a magician's apprentice, utilizing a clever mechanical hook known as the Treasure Sight coin filter. This magical lens allows players to instantly highlight interactive environmental objects and reveal hidden, supernatural secrets within the beautifully hand-drawn world. The visual presentation stands as a pinnacle of 2D animation, featuring breathtaking, storybook-style environments and charming character designs that shift seamlessly from cozy pastoral comfort to eerie, shadowy tension. While a few of the late-game inventory puzzles lean into abstract, convoluted logic and the pacing occasionally slows during heavy dialogue sequences, the title thoroughly redeems itself through its masterful world-building and rich auditory design. A fully orchestrated, evocative soundtrack combined with superb voice acting elevates the emotional weight of a narrative that grows surprisingly mature and complex in its final hours. Delightful collectible side activities, such as discovering hidden audio stories and engaging in a fully realized card game, provide extra layers of immersion and reward careful exploration. Ultimately, the software overcomes any mechanical eccentricities of the point-and-click genre by delivering a spellbinding, unforgettable journey that serves as a love letter to imaginative storytelling.
