The Messenger

Pretty disappointing in my opinion. A competent but not really great in any way platformer. I found it often felt tedious and slow, and the rooms that are interesting come after rooms that simply waste your taste, so if you do have to replay them it is at the cost of replaying those rooms as well. Some good bosses, some that were again too slow and tedious. You are better off just replaying Celeste and Super Mario World. Not bad by any means, but not necessarily good either. Game has some great mechanics but doesn't really involve them very much. Well priced on sale however. Music is well suited to the game. If you do play it and are using a keyboard, I highly recommend remapping the controls as the standard are incredibly awkward. If steam had a neutral rating I would give it that.

An excellent game with a really dumb tower.

Um dos meus jogos preferidos, finalmente comprei pra zerar de uma vez por todas essa belezura. amo todos os diálogos engraçadinhos e o jogo é simplesmente perfeito!

Initial impressions: A decent retro-style Metroidvania, especially on sale, albeit not as interesting as many Metroid or Castlevania titles. Depth of story/character is lacking in comparison. The Messenger takes a more playful and humor-oriented approach, the appeal of which will vary based on your personal preferences (it's not to my taste). Additionally, difficulty is uneven from time to time, upgrades seem limited, and PC controls are odd. Overall, however, The Messenger is a good effort with smooth gameplay. I'll likely continue playing until I reach the end.

Me diverti pelo tempo que joguei. No entanto, comecei a achar o jogo chato depois que tive que começar a buscar as notas musicais. Passei a ficar perdido e não gostei da mudança de gênero que ocorreu de forma súbita no jogo, o qual passou a funcionar como metroidvania, sendo que eu já estava acostumado com o estilo linear apresentado inicialmente.
