The Message from Deep Space

Apart from a handful of instances of what I consider logical leaps regarding "what the author meant", and some repeated topics that could have been just cut to make the runtime shorter, this is an insanely smartly crafted and well executed exploration of what the first steps of making contact with aliens could look like. It also features a surprisingly large amount of dialogue just as well written, served up by characters that add a lot of charm that I didn't expect. Well worth the asking price and your time. And to reflect a bit on many of the reviews: no, it's nothing like Project Hail Mary. That movie (which I assume most people refer to) completely brushes over the translation process. This game is much closer to Arrival, or rather, Arrival on steroids. And that's a good thing.

I feel confused in the best way possible so often in this game. Genuinely a great puzzler.

Only about 14 hours in but having a blast. The game has an awesome premise and leads you through some very fun logic puzzles to build up your understanding. The exact requirements for answers (eg. "1, 2" is wrong but "2, 1" is correct for an answer to a question that doesn't necessarily require an order) can be a bit annoying some times but really enjoying the overall narrative and build up of knowledge you get over the course of the game.

This game rocks if you're an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nerd. I'm having a great time B-)

I see people complaining that it's long. Good!

for a game about aliens, this is the most human game i've played in a long while
