The List

I got stuck on this for a long time and then randomly booted it up because I wanted to delete it from my library. It plays very much like Her Story and kind of like Telling Lies, both of which I enjoyed. I took a major leap of logic and randomly got the ending which I found to be kind of anti-climactic; I concur with others re: the american history knowledge being helpful with this game. Despite these limitations, I still enjoy this style of game and would recommend it to others who do as well.

The way to get to the ending clip is a little obfuscated (there's no natural connecting word, it requires a significant logical leap for the player to search), but otherwise a very fun investigation. An evening well spent.

I recommend this game if you have played games like 'Her Story' and enjoy detective/mystery games. It had a great story overall and good gameplay. it also has a really reasonable price and worth buying! however the acting is a little off sometimes and the searching in the game can be annoying towards the end, without spoiling anything. overall: 7/10

Well, I loved it, but I'm not entirely confident that I fully understood it. The game is enjoyable and immersive, and it was easy to get into it. Figuring out the password for the email nearly drove me insane as I figured out the source/background early on but not the specific password. Finding the second password/code was pretty easy after that. I did struggle with accessing the final needed clip. The list is a tip. I enjoyed it a lot. I'll probably play it again, but honestly, part of the story/narrative flew over my head, and I didn't fully understand the game until after a bit. The list, some misinformation given by the main character and subtle clues and insight into the main character's personality hint at what is going on. But it all took me a minute. Overall, I liked it.

My main problem with this game is that you have to know American History to get to the end, and still... It is very complicated. For me it didn't really make sense. I was expecting some great plot like Her Story, but I got disappointed. Well, I didn't have a good experience with this game, but I like this style of Her Story and Telling Lies and I hope we get more games like this!

Es ist ein Genre wie Her Story und Interrogation Files: Port Landsend. Erstaunlich ist auch, dass der Entwickler und Publisher auch der Schauspieler von Jordan Grady ist. Da steck viel Arbeit und Engagement sowie Herzblut drin, was man deutlich merkt.

Story: Story is pretty simple and hooks you in by saying a man named Jordan was a victim of almost being killed. After being questioned about the incident for 5 days, he's killed some time afterwards. You obviously have to find out why to everything. Gameplay: If you played Her Story or Telling Lies, the game is very similar to it. I actually thought it was the same developer (Sam Barlow) until I checked the store page again. Basically you search key terms to pull up videos of the questioning Jordan was involved in. The terms have to correspond with what was said in the video otherwise you get nothing. Though I feel like this was executed a bit better in Her Story and Telling Lies (I expand on that later in the review) Pros: The game is pretty simple. Look up videos to get more of the story and find out why exactly he was killed. You have a notepad to keep track of details and folder of case notes that gives a dossier of the overall incident for reference. That's pretty much it. There's an 8 Ball you can play with as well :D Cons: A lot of people are complaining that you have to know a lot of American history to really get the grasp of acquiring these videos. I don't have a problem with that since I live in the US but I can see international players maybe having some trouble with that aspect. Thankfully its not a big chunk in the game. Another complaint is the flow of some of the clips. The game doesnt involve the detective talking to Jordan so all dialogue is Jordan talking. Theres nothing wrong with this. But some clips will have Jordan talking about one thing and the very next clip with have him randomly talking about something else. For example, Jordan will talk about how he supports this Senator who is apparently controversial in this games world. Then the very next clip, Jordan randomly talks about how a store has a right to refuse anyone they want even if its based off of racism or homophobia. Then the next clip involves him casually talking about where he went to school. There's other instances like this and it makes it kind of hard to form a baseline of the interviews. Last con is probably the ending. Once you figure out everything, the game takes an....interesting turn. It's definitely a twist but a twist that is probably a bit too left field for a simple detective story. I don't hate it all. And its one of those twists that was blatantly staring at you in the face and explained certain small things in the story that didnt quite add up. Which is great. But nontheless, I was hoping for a more grounded conclusion to everything. This part is subjective I think. Conclusion: All in all its a great game if you want to pour yourself into a murder mystery. And seeing as its a one man band who made this game, its a pretty impressive product. Conclusion: Its a good game if youre into detect
