About
Strings of Fate XI: Magic Dream is a party-based RPG set in a hand-crafted world.
Five heroes. Similar dreams. A mysterious force that brings them together.
Long ago, Litéa was a flourishing planet. Humanity had nearly conquered time and disease, and ships were launched into space to find others like them. And they found them. But the response did not come from friends. A technogenic signal attracted the attention of what humanity came to call Evil, and its power — "MAGIC" — Materially-Aggressive Generation of Other Phenomena. The world collapsed. Hordes of monsters from other worlds poured through rifts in space.
Five scientists managed to seal the source of Evil deep underground. But magic remained. Its currents still permeate Litéa to this day. And the monsters did not disappear — they spread across the planet everywhere: in forests, swamps, mountains, and ruins.
Over a thousand years have passed.
Technology has been forgotten. People have learned to survive and coexist with magic. Kingdoms wage war, monsters prowl the roads, and the ancient Evil, imprisoned in the depths, is beginning to stir. Its servants seek a way to free their master.
And at this time, five strangers begin to see the same dreams. They do not know each other, but the dreams lead them along the same path. Who is sending the dreams? Why? The answers are hidden in ancient prophecies, dungeons, and magic that has yet to be understood.
You will command a party of five characters:
Kevin Hart — a miner with an iron will.
Amelia Lavenatin — an herbalist, healer, and keeper of ancient knowledge.
Salem Björn — a hunter with a sharp tongue and an even sharper bow.
Veina Rewald — a guardian, the "Maiden of Honor," faithful to her duty.
Allan Metrielle — a half-elf mage who has learned the price of knowledge.
Each has their own story, personality, and goals. They will argue, joke, support each other, and change throughout the game. You control not just heroes — you control a living party.
Explore a world crafted by hand by an artist.
Six square kilometers of open territory. Forests, deserts, swamps, mountains — biomes that transition seamlessly, creating a living and diverse landscape. Seventeen dungeons. One hundred and sixty quests. Over six hundred NPCs with their own stories.
Time of day, changing weather, hunger, and fatigue all affect what happens. Shops operate on a schedule, horses and boats run on a timetable, and some quests are only available at certain hours. Litéa does not wait — it lives its own life.
Everything classic RPG fans love is here: seven schools of magic, dozens of spells, many weapon types and armor sets, thousands of items and artifacts. But Strings of Fate XI does not simply copy the past — it builds upon it.
What new awaits you:
Interactive world: logic puzzles, unusual objects, collecting, gathering. Every object demands attention and a solution.
Living dialogues: party members talk to each other, react to events, and change their relationships with one another as the game progresses.
Time as a resource: some quests are only available at specific hours. Late? You'll have to wait.
Death with a choice: the Guardian offers several paths back — and each comes with its own price.
Develop your heroes, seek out teachers, experiment with potions, explore dungeons. Every skill point changes the tide of battle. Every level opens new tactical horizons.
For those seeking a true RPG
Strings of Fate XI: Magical Dream is made for fans of classic party-based RPGs — and for those just discovering the genre. If you value deep storytelling, exploration, and character progression — this world awaits you. If you're looking for something new within a familiar formula — you'll find it here.
Litéa has fallen. But it can be saved. Assemble your party. Follow the dreams. Find the answers.
The fate of Litéa is in your hands.

Foreword And here we have another case of unfathomably fabricating or outright lying Steam reviews, written as if from a sentiment of: "U no understand, this is indieeee." Well, let me tell you what I found: Combat: -5 / 10 Yes a negative 5 out of ten. Whomever thought of this wannabe action combat in a party-based RPG was on mushrooms or idk. Circling around in an infinite loop so that an enemy doesn't have a chance to hit you, or backpedaling in which case you'd get hit accordingly to the passive dodge. Wait for your weapon to CD, press hit, rinse and repeat. WOW! Old school combat? Hardly. More like an absolutely simplistic applesauce. Little did you know that the lowest of enemies would hit you the same amount of 4 times out of 5 on your 1st level as well as on your 5th. 5 or 30 defense — zero palpable difference in their damage output. Exploration: 5 / 10 As far as I can tell, the world seems to be chock full of inconspicuous alleyways, environmental jumping puzzles, hidden caves, destroyable walls, "treasures behind the waterfall", and stuff like that. Technically speaking, very nice. However, during the 5 hours of gameplay, I haven't encountered anything bigger than "four-rooms" cave with some chests in plain sight. Everything is very basic in this regard as well. Reputedly, there are some riddles too? Haven't seen one yet, but okay, I believe it. Unfortunatelly, this game is no stranger to the modern brainrot of over-abundance of items. Imagine playing a "party of one" RPG for several hours, but getting several times more loot then in the "party of five" in the case of the already mentioned Might and Magic. Gone is the feeling of surprise. Everpresent clutter in your inventory, always something changing. This is not how you handle treasures and exploration'n'reward. I'd have given it 6 or even 7 out of 10, but this takes two points out. Soundtrack: 7 / 10 A modest musical score where modest means elegant. Surprisingly well-made for an indie. This is the only feature of the game that I found good in its own right. Quests: 2 / 10 Out of 15 quests I received, 11 were fetch quests, two were kill quests, everything filled with superfluous reading such as why you need to pick up that ledger, and why he dropped it there. Bring the item, get paid, finito. Thinking some branching? Get real, this ain't that kind of game, kid. The two other quests were the main line — I couldn't get past a broken bridge, WOW a twist — and finding a teleportation scroll. Technically a fetch quest too, but this one was a bit tricky and included actual searching, so I'd grant it the status of being different. To be completely honest, M'n'M waren't much different in this regard. However: A. That was 25 - 30 yrs ago and complex RPGs were but starting. B. Even back then, those kind of tasks-instead-of-quests weren't exactly praised. Tl;dr, if I wanted to play a reductive, perfunctory MMO kind of questing, I'd play a MMO. This has no business being in a game that dares to call itself an RPG. Itemization and Skills: 6 / 10 Although I scolded the looting itself, I'd differentiate here. The items are of solid variety with different bonuses. Think near 1:1 copy of M'n'M in better graphics. This is nice. I mean THIS WOULD'VE BEEN nice if it weren't for those truckloads of treasure that leave you: 1. A dopamine addict — if you are a junkie expecting an RPG to play liek a diablo-like, or 2. A disenchanted player, who'd expected a sense of progress and proper RPG exploration and reward loop. I wanted to speak about skills a bit, but why would I. What use is there for skills when the rest is what it is. They seem to be designed 1:1 to M'nM including the teachers and ranks. Resume: This is by no means an homage to oldies. It rather feels like an uninspiring busywork with superficial elements and fluff conversations, falsely posing as open world RPG through size alone. And the reason why I am so agitated, using strong language and all, is that such projects "grace" the world of gaming more and more these days. Indies used to mean worse graphics, lesser extent, but much heart and ingenuity. However, nowadays indies too often try to be on heels of AAA in terms of graphics and extent, ditching most of the fabled soul somewhere in the process. Like this piece of a let down did.
Horrible fake. It's not old school, it's more of a russian fairy tale. No turn-based combat or skill restrictions. No classes as such. There is no difference between a warrior and a wizard. Everyone learns Grandmaster of Bow, and then there's no point in playing any further. Not worth a dollar. ❌1/10
1.5/10
Yikes Looks cool, but everything else is a complete disaster.
Pros:
- It actually looks nice. I rather like the whole Hexen/Heretic vibe it's got going on - The spellbook looks really cool
Cons:
- Robotic AI voice is absolutely horrendous. Literally makes me physically ill listening to it and it's used frequently - Grammatical errors make the game look trashy - There's hardly any sound effects and half are more AI voice grunts - Text can be hard to read: it's this old timey font, and even worse, a medium brown on a greyish background. Also no scaling. Just terrible - Movement is extraordinarily slow. You can "dash" slightly faster by holding shift or whatever but I shouldn't have to do that - Combat is HORRIBLE. It's just a carpal-tunnel inducing clickfest, and I can see why people say you just use bows and nothing else - The minimap looks rather muddy. Just a bunch of browns and greens with no useful markers or anything. I don't think I'd enjoy trying to do quests - The Help Menu only covers a few basic things and doesn't explain a single thing you'd actually want to know - I don't get to create my character? Lame - If I cast a buff, I don't see any indication of how long it lasts
