Hailed as one of the largest, longest and most meticulously detailed turn-based JRPG series of all time, this first chapter in the ongoing Trails saga sets the stage for what's quickly become Ys developer Nihon Falcom's most popular and best-selling franchise in their entire 30+ year history.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One of the best games I've played! The characters are charming and their interactions are enjoyable and fun, while the story itself was (though slow paced) consistently captivating and interesting. The gameplay itself is engaging and satisfying and the music is wonderful! My only drawback is how easy it is to miss out on content (side quests, items). A guide is almost necessary if you want to experience everything in the game

Man, it's a slog, and I didn't have a great time but you have to start somewhere. I'm hopping to see how is the sequel. But maaan, 90 % of the game was meh. Not bat at the point i would stop, but if i didn't know there were sequels, i would have stopped at chapter 2. Bref, sorry for the english. Edit : The final dungeon sucks ass, i decided to watch the end on youtube, and it was absolutely worth it. The gameplay is not very fun, but the story becomes interesting and makes you want to know where this is going. If the subsequent games develop the gameplay (which is interesting but clearly under-developed), and are a little less long to start becoming interesting (the game piqued my interest from middle/end of chapter 3), i can see myself finishing the whole series. I'm quite excited to see where this is going despite the poor first impression this game provides. Thank you of your attention and bye !
.
Great engaging story, great turn-based combat, and a lot of content. I also like the fact it has difficulty levels allowing you to replay at harder difficulty. Works great in Linux. If using Linux I recommend using GE-Proton as this game requires some video codecs that aren't included in standard version of Proton.
It is a good game. It took some getting used to, as I'm working my way backwards, but it is neat to see where all the original stuff comes from
