Censorship - None. Woot! Woot! Hours of Content - An hour. Maybe two if you want every scene/ending. Modding Support - None at all. Sexual Content - Erotic poses, and full-on intercourse. Saucy. I'm not a "virtual novel" type of person. As a matter of fact, I usually can't be bothered to click through any long-strings of dialogue in any title. I'm looking at you Neptunia series! But, as of recent, I've been opening my mind. So, I've been trying games I'd normally scroll past. The Legend of Arcadieu caught my eye. As soon as the saw the artwork (and the term "sexual content"), I wish-listed this game and bought it the moment it went on sale. Well, it's not a bad game. The story made my laugh-out-loud a few times, and the art (again) is really awesome. In regards to art direction, this game sets itself apart. "Generic anime" doesn't usually attract me. But, there isn't a whole lot of art. The characters don't make any new poses during dialogue. There's no animation (other than some images being dragged around the screen). The facial expressions were cute though. The sex-scenes were brief, but fully-uncensored and nicely drawn. Oh yeah, and characters. Actually, they were hardly developed. There's a few plot twists regarding them, but the game will be over before you know it. I guess to be fair, considering the length of this game (one hour) and the number of characters (about six), that only leaves about ten minutes per person. Oh wait, I finished this game in forty-five minutes, not one hour. Make that seven-and-a-half minutes. If I mathed-that right. Ah! The story. You're some (boy) kid that plays lots and lots of video-games. He has no friends, and frankly, he's a loser. He sounds a lot like me. Then again, he also sounds like a generic protagonist. He has a game called "The Legend of Arcadieu", which immediately breaks his PC. Thankfully, he knows an incantation from an online forum he frequents. A few key strokes and latin incantations later, he's in the game! As in, actually in the game. He has to figure his way out of the game, and back into the real world. You will have to interact with NPCs and battle (or uh, ahem) them. I mean, that's all there is to this game. There's two endings. Wait, three. There's a generic bad ending, and there's two "good" endings. Whether or not you consider one of those "good" endings to be really good is up to you. But it does include the biggest sex-scene. Just saying. There's a couple decisions you will have to make through-out the game, which affect your ending. And I mean a couple]. With the "skip" button, you can finish this game in under five minutes. This is great for quickly unlocking unseen cutscenes. The story is generic, but it's a solid premise for a saucy adventure. There was a lot of missed opportunities, but I did enjoy the times when the protagonists "gamer-talk" and knowledge conflicted with the in-game world. But the world is very linear. As a matter of fact, you can't stray from the main story, ever. You don't explore, just go where the game says you go. That's fine and all, but it hurts the replay value of this game. The only reason I kept playing was to unlock the full gallery. I did buy this game on the premise of art after all. Again, this isn't that bad of a game. Is it good? Not really, it needed to be longer, and more fleshy. I would of liked to do more exploration, or learn more about the world and what-not. The game totally bugged out on me, making me unable to complete it normally. I don't know what I did, but at least I got all (but one) of the gallery unlocked. My biggest gripe by-far with this game is the price. I know artwork is pricey, and so is game developing. But this game isn't worth six USD to me. I payed about 4 USD, and I don't think I really got my money's worth. I think that this title would be more reasonably priced at two or three USD. I would not pay full price for this game, and if I were you (the reader) I would wait to buy this game until it goes on sale. Short game, too expensive, meh-game-play, crap world-building, awesome art. That's what I gotta say.

The inventive concept of parodying the RPG genre was a great start for this visual novel. I have been tired of RPGs for a while – fight this, fight that, rinse and repeat until you get a weapon to fight the next boss and its 50 identical minions - boring, boring, boring! My initial enthusiasm was tempered somewhat by the discovery that you can play only as a male lead. I tend to steer clear where possible as it is just so much harder (and usually impossible) to be able to connect with them.
Base game
You take the part of an unnamed young man who spends his time in his room playing video games. In this story, you get sucked into the world of a cheap RPG after overcoming a system crash whilst initialising. Once there, you soon meet your two companions and learn that the realm is dictated by an evil, oppressive dark queen, who, presumably, you must kill in order to free the civilians and return home. Graphically, presentation is interesting. The opening scene in the MC's room is highly detailed and quite impressive. Beyond there, this style switches to that of a hand-drawn early-90s RPG; sacrificing that initial detail for basic simplicity. In context this decision is spot-on, totally in keeping with the story. Character sprites are cartoon style, and apart from the noseless faces (which work front-on, but look very weird in profile) are quite detailed and satisfying; although it is a shame that we do not really get to see the protagonist. CGs are decent apart from the “kissing” graphic, which is plain awful. Gameplay wise, we are limited to just a few either/or type choices, though these do affect the final outcome. There are at least 3 different “good” endings to be found. The skip function is fast and will help if you are ploughing through multiple times for all of the endings. I do have issues with the UI though. There appears no way to hide the text box, and selecting one of the options (eg. Save/Load) required more accuracy than I would have liked. Unless clicked in just the right spot (or on the hand pointer itself), often the text would just move on rather than activate the chosen function. The “hordes” of sexy monsters our hero is mooted to battle, turns out to be just 3, including the boss -unless you include a minion of one of the minions, in which case you have 4. The story follows a typical RPG format: town – easy enemy location – harder enemy location – boss' lair, and parodies this quite well, albeit all too briefly. Once you have been through the boss meeting, the game concludes quite swiftly. This type of VN was ripe for the addition of Steam achievements, but there are none.
18+ adult patch
Installing and enabling the R18 patch effectively gives you a different game experience. The base storyline is still there, but is reduced to barely a supporting role. Now your aims for the MC are quite clearly to have sex with as many of the female characters as you can; going through the RPG elements becomes nothing more than incidental. Sex scenes are quite raunchy and accompanied by no-holds-barred CGs, but are written from the perspective of the male MC and are very clearly aimed at instant-gratification for post-adolescent young men. There is very little satisfaction to be found for the girls reading this.
Overall
The game concept is probably its high point. Execution is reasonable, although, for the price point; there is not enough entertainment there to consider this anything other than expensive. The base game should appeal to anybody who likes VNs and is familiar with RPGs; while the target market for the 18+ patch will probably lap that up too. If you happen to be male, 18-21, enjoy reading and recognise the absurdity of the average RPG, there is probably fair value in this offering. For everybody else, I feel it is overpriced, and for that reason I cannot wholeheartedly recommend.
This is 쓰레기게임.
Legend of Arcadieu is an adult visual novel with the free optional 18+ patch. The main character gets transported in the Legend of Arcadieu Fantasy-rpg video game after a computer bug.He will meet Sophie and Trish who will train him to fight the Evil Queen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdglIJrr9p8&feature=youtu.be Pros - Art style is bright and colourful - Multiple music tracks - 18+ free patch - Dialogue and story is passable. - Saving option and art gallery Cons - Static background. -Not many choices to be made. - Short but its around 5$. - Lacks animation and details.
Attention: - this review may contain spoilers, if you don´t mind go ahead and read at your own risk. Summary: A short length vn with Fantasy/Adult content. Tells about an unnamed MC who turns in the hero of a game. Features: 18+ content (patch/ available), multiple endings. About: - Game: The Legend of Arcadieu is a short length vn with Fantasy/Adult content developed by Kavorka. Estimated length: 60~90 min. - Story: In the Legend of Arcadieu you will play as an unnamed MC who by playing a game called The Legend of Arcadieu, turns into the Hero of the game (your "Isekai" stuff, "summoned" as the Hero), and with his dual bow will defeat the demon queen. As a Hero in a fantasy world, will find partners, fight monsters. - Gameplay: is a short novel without battle content, just a few choices to make, depending of the choice, leads to a specific ending. - VA: Not present, however, there are some 18+ sounds. - Artwork: simple, no good nor bad, average. - Soundtrack: average - Performance: no problems so far. Conclusion: The Legend of Arcadieu is a short length vn with Fantasy/Adult content and a 18+ dlc patch available for free. Recommended for those that want a short adult game to pass the time.
https://youtu.be/_l02UPqYCcw Humor elements do hit on occasion but the generally short play length and limited choice structure leaves only surface level connections to the characters.
This is one of those times I wish there was a neutral recommendation option for reviews. This isn't an awful game, but it's not really that great, either. The Legend of Arcadieu is a short visual novel that parodies fantasy RPGs. There is no gameplay, but there are a small handful of choices which determine which ending you'll get. Don't expect anything groundbreaking here; the plot is fairly standard "average everyguy gets sucked into the world of the video game he's been playing", although there are a few genuinely funny moments (I liked the class selection and the scene with the succubus especially). The art is alright; I really like Sophie's design in particular. The sex scenes (in the free 18+ patch) are obviously intended for pure titillation, with the story as a whole acting as an excuse for the sex rather than the sex existing in service to the story--unfortunately, porn by itself just doesn't do anything for me, so I'm not really the target audience for this. Usability-wise, the game has a bug where the menu buttons become inaccessible after starting a new game after the first playthrough. This wouldn't be as big of a problem as it is if pressing Esc brought up the menu like it does in most other games, but as far as I can tell, there is no keyboard shortcut to bring up the menu. I received a free copy of this game for my curator, Games for Hopeless Romantics, which led to some disappointment when I played through every ending to discover that the game has no romance in it. There is an ending where
the protagonist marries the game kingdom's evil queen to gain power
, but I'd hardly call that romantic. The other routes are either casual sex or friends with benefits; nothing wrong with those, but advertising this with "romance with the characters of your affection" is false advertising.
Steam cloud.
