At a Glance

(Adult) Content Yes, (FxM) sexual content.

Censorship No. Woot! - Disclaimer - I am required by Steam law to notify you that I recieved this game free of charge. However, I receieved no other compensation and I am bound by no obligation to write this review.
Gameplay
This is a stereotypical visual novel. You smash through text boxes, and make choices as they are presented. Some choices have minor consequences, while others will change the way the game ends. There isn't much else to talk about, in terms of "gameplay". If you hit the "esc" key, the window will instantly close. Theoretically useful, but it should it be toggleable. If you have a tendency to use "esc" to exit menus, you're in for a bad time. Save often.
Story
It's summer break, and the (unnamed, male) protagonist is daydreaming about pervin' on the beach. His best friend (who's also a witch), Aki stops him dead in his tracks. They exchange dialogue, and she declines joining him (at the beach) due to a visit from her eccentric aunt. After hitting the town, he retires to his room and is pulled out by Sam. They spend a romantic night together, and the next morning. . . She's gone. All that's left of Sam is a strange symbol, emblazoned on the couch. According to Aki, it represents the word "forest". With that in mind, the protagonist heads to the forest. He meets a hedonistic lady, but otherwise his search is fruitless. He goes back to his town to learn more about this mysterious symbol, and how the forest plays into Sam's disappearance. He hits up one of his teachers, and she claims that the symbol is linked to some forgotten witch cult. The remainder of the story involves more disappearances, more pieces of the puzzle, and a bit of a plot twist (which can end in one of three ways, depending on what you did up to that point).
Visuals
The title screen is appealing and mildly animated. It looks flashy, and I like it. Every selection you'd expect for a visual novel is clearly outlined from the get-go, including a gallery. Unfortunately, your preferences (or "settings") don't last between sessions. The gallery is easy to navigate, and all full-art images (lewd or not) are able to be viewed (minus the in-game dialogue). There is no zoom function, but there is also no pesky interface blocking the images. The first item which popped for me was the animated characters. As they talk, they blink and flap their mouths. It's a simple detail (which I enjoyed), but it might bother some people. I spotted a few references to the developers' other titles, including a poster of The Legend of Arcadieu. I'm sure there were plenty more references that I missed, but I'm not terribly familiar with the developers' other works. - The Goods - The sexual content is comprised of static images and text boxes. The artwork is very, very high quality and distinct. There is a unique style to the art of this game, one that I haven't seen elsewhere. You can expect female-on-male action, with juicy money shots.
Verdict
This is a nice lil' game with great artwork. The story isn't very strong, and the game's a bit short, but the price is right. I do recommend this title, even if all you're after is saucy stuff. - Words for the Devs - I want to thank you for providing me a free copy of this game. I enjoyed playing it, and I deeply appreciate the ability to play and write about your work before release. It gives me more time to gather my thoughts, and it helps offset the costs of reviewing games. Thank you!
Support the Wombat
If you enjoy my reviews, please follow my Curator page. I want my time back! I didn't get lucky with my guessing game choices and had to go through all the endings and it took 73 minutes. The art is bad the story is bad and you randomly guess at choices. My first loss was at about 15 minutes into the game. I won't refund because that seems like cheating when I finished the game. Beware because I can't think of anything nice to say about the game an that is rare for me.
In Witch College 2 we get to play an unnamed teenage male during summer vacation from college. He lives, curiously, in exactly the same bedroom as the protagonist from The Legend Of Arcadieu, and has even updated the poster on his wall to remind us that that game is also available from this developer. The basic story is very fleeting. The MC has a couple of close female friends who are both conveniently pretty and buxom, and one of them happens to be a witch who has an intimidating aunt who is also a witch. Whilst entertaining a visit from his other friend, she mysteriously disappears when he is out of the room, leaving only a strange symbol behind. A brief investigation involving discussions with two more remarkably attractive females leads our “hero” into some strange woodland and ultimately to a confrontation with the kidnappers of his friend; where choices made to this point will decide which of the three possible endings to the story will be played out. There are several choices during the tale, some either/or, and others with three options. Most of these will affect only the immediate responses; though it is not hard to discover the point at which the endings will be decided. Graphically, the game does really rather well. Backgrounds are good with a realistic feel to them, and character sprites are nicely detailed, pleasing to view and sport mouth animations to simulate their speech. That the protagonist has no eyes (always a negative) is masked quite well by his appealing unkempt hairstyle. Aurally it fares less well. Accompanying music is perfectly acceptable in an elevator-muzak fashion, but the sound effects are limited and a little annoying. It felt like the same “mock punch” effect was used for almost everything, and there are the occasional speech effects which I am not sure if they are actual words in an Oriental language or just exclamations. Either way, when playing through a story that has been translated to English, neither the voice nor the “speech” fits the character at all. In trying to turn the sound off, I found a fault with the menu. Selecting “off” for the sound has no effect. The only way I was able to silence it was by muting my laptop speaker. “Back to title” also does not work from the “settings” screen until you have actually started playing through the story. This is a failing in common with their previous release. Be very careful of pressing the escape key, as this instantly closes the game down and throws you back to desktop, without saving your progress. The first time I did this was in the hope of quickly switching to the save screen only to find I was no longer in-game. Loading back up, I tried the fast forward/skip button, only for it to go whizzing past where I had got to, demonstrating scant regard for whether I had read the text it was bypasssing or not. I managed to stop it only a few lines beyond where I had been, but by then another flaw in the UI had been identified. If this game was free, I'd have no problem with a tentative recommendation for the base story. Once you're aware of the flaws, you can avoid them, and it's not an unpleasant half hour's piece of fluff. However, with a mid-range budget price attached, I'd have to go the other way. The story is extremely thin, none of the characters involved have any personality and their placement as convenient sex objects is so extraordinarily obvious as to be embarrassing. This is the second game that Kavorka have supplied to me for review purposes, and there is a clear pattern in their style. They create cheap-thrill porn for hormonally charged young men. There is a free 18+ dlc available for this story, which in this instance I chose not to look at. It is very, very obvious both what will be included and exactly where it will slot into the base offering. On behalf of otome lovers, I recommend against paying for this product (and especially with the dlc) as this is clearly – once again – not aimed at a female audience. That said, for the target group of single young men after some lust appeal, this will very likely be right up your street. Steam does not give the option of splitting your verdict by market sector, so I'm saying no to the traditional VN readership, but with a highly likely yes if cartoon drawings of curvy, consenting females to your fantasies gets you hot under the collar.
https://youtu.be/S9w56E2reDo Story choices have a limited to no impact on the narrative in this brief visual novel. Character motivations swing wildly with little justification for their choices.
Kavorka's Witch College 2 - Revenge of the sorceress continues the adventures of the male protagonist and his two female friends Aki & Sam during Summer break from Himawari University College of Art. The vacation starts off full of exciting potential that is until Sam mysteriously disappears during a movie night at the male protagonist's place and an unusual symbol is left behind. This sets off the male protagonist on a hunt to discover what the symbol's meaning is, where Sam disappeared to and why Sam was abducted? It isn't long before his friend, Aki, appears when the protagonist messages her and, because of Aki's Aunt Morgan visiting, she is limited in being able to accompany the protagonist in his search. Previous players of Witch School will see the return of another familiar character in Miss Seiko the History teacher but there is also another mysterious new character who the male protagonist meets during his search - an enchantress who plays an important role in the protagonist's hunt for Sam. The game-play is a multi-choice visual novel with an 18+ free DLC patch for the eroge scenes that, without the patch, leaves the game very weak in story and in dialogue where majority of the plot revolves around the female friends exposing the male protagonist's one track mind while offering simple game choices that lead to 3 endings. (Many of those choices being orientated to a High school teen mentality) The music and effects are of a bubblegum retro-like sound which compliments the game-play keeping it in a high 'spirited' Japanese VN vibe while the artwork is lively with bright, warming palettes (including ample use of pinks!) and effective anime character designs. Experienced Kavorka gamers will spot background art of past games including: Space Love Delta, Arcadieu & Hanapon Princess. The VN begins in full screen but there is a choice to set to window mode and, as expected with the eroge VNs, there is a CG gallery of 21 images (of which many are from the 18+ DLC patch) unlockable after gaining all 3 endings. I personally wouldn't have chosen to seek out & play this style of Visual Novel and it is only down to my own preferences of what I consider a memorable & rewarding VN experience as to why I wouldn't recommend it. It definitely isn't a game aimed at creating a long term impact on the reader/player BUT that is also ignorant to say that there isn't an appeal there for players who DO enjoy the raunchy humour behind this genre so it is this group of fans who I can happily recommend this sequel to. ~~~ Liked what you see?
Follow our curator for similar games
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/ 18+ Short VN + original art - no sound effects = A decent VN with some cute girls. Playtime is about 3-4 hours. The story is mildly entertaining.
Great visual short visual novel with bright colours, interested storyline and multiple choices leading to a different endings. This game also has an optional 18+ patch with nice CG pictures. They also have other great titles like Legend of Arcadieu, Lovely Heroines and Witch College. All with bright beautiful colours and same ole ole pictures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-esLVbQo3UQ&t=7s
Velmi velmi krátké, asi tak jako tato recenze. Vypadá to pěkně, nicméně je to velmi nevyužitý potenciál. Za plnou cenu nekupovat. Dohráno pod hodinu, záleží dle vašich voleb, možná to bude rychlejší, možné o něco delší. Hodnocení: 5/10 Zakoupeno za 0,99€
