Лучшая игра в которую я играл за последнее 2-3 года.
A remarkably mediocre foray into such rich narrative territory that is zombie/ end of civillisation/ eco-horror. Last of Us lacks moral profundity, character idiosyncrasy, any measure of drama or even genuine political intrigue that isn’t explained in a sentence. We see Joel’s daughter die and it is not brought up again meaningfully, Ellie has the confidence of a battle hardened 28 year old without a tear or vulnerability, Sam and Henry are killed off before we make a substantial emotional connection to them and Tess and her legacy are quickly discarded. The banter between our two protagonists is evacuated for silence or the most awkward conversations cooked up. Partly some of this is Joel’s character to be fair but other times the game indicates this is supposed to be charming when it’s still incredibly cringe. There is no exploration of their backgrounds, morals, motivations or at best it is done in such a cavalier way as to not count. Juxtapose this with the infinite times better story told in The Walking Dead season 1 where Lee’s dark past is interwoven in the narrative, there is a bona fide Father-daughter bond between him and Clementine and there are devastating choices that push the limits of your moral and existential philosophy. The Last of Us is a poor imitation of this story and the many others that have treated these concepts much better. The Walking Dead is more of an interactive story than a video game so surely Last of Us beats it there right? I suppose only in the sense its against an absent opponent. To be clear, the game plays fine and is well animated although I had a few gripes. The wheel system is clunky and makes switching weapons in the middle of a fight a giant hassle, a lack of a jump button and texture popping occurring throughout. Naughty Dog do make smooth games nonetheless and the fluid controls and gunplay otherwise lent itself to me playing as much as I did. I have seen other reviews mention technical issues but I didn’t encounter many besides the popping. I’m sure I will get death threats about my opinion but take a breath before you indulge in nerd rage.
Phenomenal. Beat it twice so far. Blew me away both times.
good game, some parts felt like a chore tho

11/10 Favorite Game No1.
goated game no doubt
