I tried the demo, then made the purchase. Graphics are great but could be improved a bit more. It is slow paced when you start and patiencce is definitely a requirement when you first start. It gets easier as you progress through the game. once you have your keys figured out. Looking forward to the next update and the bug fixes as there are still some floating around in there. I will make another review once I have tried the muliplayer mode! Definitely worth the purchasse! Recommended for those who love a Survival Challenge!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

fun to play something to do seems fresh.
So far this game is super fun, I love the resource gathering and base building elements, but there's also the next layer of the mysterious plot to keep you engaged. I haven't encountered any enemies or anything yet, after playing for eight hours and exploring a lot of the map, so that's kinda strange? I don't know, we will see, I'll update after more play time. Overall super fun though.
Games nice and as far as i got into the story very good, but bugs and disappearing keys and items in general makes it so you cant progress much. Had to load 2 previous save game files to get items back. Will play again once it's fully playable.
Super promising but kind of a bust. In multiplayer there just isn't enough food, even in peaceful mode we die about 3-4 times a day of hunger. We end up just respawn and explore naked until we die. If you find keys/etc then bring them to base camp so you don't lose them when you die. Eventually the constant dying just got old and we quit on the game. Also it's quite buggy, like we selected English language but somehow all the in-game units are still in French/Jacobin units. It's an early access game so hopefully this will be fixed and we will definitely come back to see if the game is more playable in the future. On one of our PC's the graphics glitch out and you end up wandering through an empty world but on the others the performance was good, though the frame rate is a little slower than comparable games.
WHAT A LOAD OF ♥♥♥♥
The Gold River Project has honestly been one of the most refreshing survival games I’ve played in a long time. I’ve put a lot of hours into survival games over the years, and after a while, many of them start to feel very similar. You gather resources, build a base, craft better equipment, survive, and repeat. The Gold River Project still has many of those elements, but there’s something about the atmosphere, exploration, progression, and overall concept that makes it feel different. It has that feeling of discovering a new survival game before everything has been figured out, documented, and optimized, and I’ve been having a ton of fun with it. One thing I think some of the negative reviews are overlooking is that this is an Early Access game. Early Access means you are playing a game while it is still actively being developed. There are going to be bugs, balancing problems, missing features, performance issues, and things that need to be improved. That comes with the territory. Constructive criticism is absolutely important because it helps the developers make the game better, but expecting an Early Access title to have the polish and content of a finished AAA release is unrealistic. I’ve encountered some issues myself, but none of them have taken away from how much I’ve enjoyed playing the game. If anything, I’m excited to see what it becomes as more content, locations, items, crafting, optimization, and quality-of-life improvements are added. After spending so many hours in other survival games, The Gold River Project feels like a breath of fresh air. I actually want to explore. I want to figure out where things are. I want to experiment with the crafting system and learn how everything works rather than immediately looking up the most efficient way to play. That sense of discovery is something survival games can lose once they’ve been around for years, and this game currently has it in spades. If you’re considering buying it, just understand what you’re getting into: this is Early Access. Don’t expect perfection. Expect a game with rough edges, plenty of potential, and developers who still have a lot of room to expand and improve it. For me, the important part is that underneath those Early Access issues is a genuinely fun game that I keep wanting to come back to. I’m really looking forward to seeing where The Gold River Project goes from here.
