I enjoy souls-like games but not to the extent a lot of people do. I'm a big hack and slash fan so I tend to prefer fast paced combat and a robust moveset where the combat difficulty feels like a test of your reflexes. With a lot of souls-like games I get annoyed at how the stamina management will feel like it's slowing down the combat pacing. A lot of the time I feel like I'm playing as a guy who is more out of shape than I am. All that said I still have some I really enjoy like Sekiro. This game gets more and more fun as I put more time into it. I'm not even level 50 yet but I love how the combat feels. You can really get creative with how you approach it and it's not just repetitive light attack, heavy attack. That's just one element but it's a major one for me. There's a ton of other things I think they did a good job with like being able to respec your skill points for free. That adds so much fun to games imo because you can try out different things instead of being locked into choices that you may regret later. I'm not really a writer so this may not be that helpful of a review I probably didn't touch on enough details but basically this game is really enjoyable even if you're not a big fan of souls games if you're thinking about getting this game, the gameplay footage looks fun to you, all that; I would recommend it. It is as fun as it looks.
This is a great game. Also, thanks to the devs for giving players the choice to play the game on Beginner's difficulty. I love souls-like games but hate that they are too difficult.
If you're intrigued by the idea of some shirtless muscle guy going, "Ruuh-AAAAAAH!!!" you will probably find the story in this to be HYYYPE affff. Otherwise, you will probably get a little put off and confused. 1000000% a "boss battle" game. The best parts are definitely the boss fights, and you feel immense accomplishment after finally defeating one. BUT NO GETTING LUCKY. Every boss has MASSIVE health bars. You really, truly must master each boss before you get to move on. That means deflecting their combos, avoiding their deadliest attacks, learning how to stagger them, and really wailing on them all while keeping your healing to a minimum. Unfortunately, the WORSE you are, the harder the game is. If you are really good, you can melt the massive health bars rather quickly. But if you're not so good, each boss battle takes forever and ever. And if you die (very likely), you will have to restart the forever ever boss battles, which can be really frustrating. Also unfortunately, it's not a boss rush game. Sometimes, the levels to get to the boss are pretty long and dull. DON'T BUY IF: -You hate memorizing moves. 100000% the type of game where you fight the boss over and over and over and over and over again until you learn to deflect moves 1, 2, 3, dodge move 4 to the left, COUNTER ATTACK move 5, then unleash a full combo to stagger the boss. -You hate inventory management. It's like Nioh--you get a lot of equipment drops. Just don't overthink it until you get hardstuck on a boss, and then maybe reconsider what to equip. -You have ever said something like, "I quit Stellar Blade during the 2nd desert biome; the levels felt too repetitive." For this game, you gotta have the grit to get through the levels in order to get to the cool boss at the end. -You hate combos. You just want to press light attack over and over and over. +-+-+ Anyway, it has super satisfying combat, and parrying feels like ECSTACY. Like--I wish I could print out the parry sound and BITE ON IT. Super satisfying parry sounds and animations. Highly recommended for people who like fighting games and action games. But not recommended for people who say stuff like, "I only really like Dark Souls for the environments and level design."
Great Game. Very addictive Soulslike. And it's really good looking. The story is really cool too. The MC made a "deal with the devil" for revenge. Insane!
best combat mechanics I've played, some great music, great art direction too. too bad the game overstays its' welcome a bit and it becomes tedious towards the end.
The First Berserker: Khazan is one of the best Soulslike games released in recent years. It delivers outstanding combat, great graphics, solid optimization, and accessibility options that make it an excellent choice for newcomers without sacrificing depth for experienced players. If you've never played a Soulslike before, this is a fantastic place to begin.
Defeating a boss in this game evokes a long-forgotten sense of hardcore triumph. You can’t over-level your character and brute-force your way to victory. The game demands that you master timing, lock into the rhythm of enemy attacks, and execute a flawless string of counter-moves. After a dozen attempts, when you finally nail the timing, break the boss's posture, and deliver a brutal finishing blow, that rush of adrenaline makes every second of the struggle worth it. This game is an absolute must-play for action and souls-like fans.
Listen, the combat is fun. The story, and the level design are both really bad. Also, more HP does NOT equal fun. What is fun? Mechanics. ACTUAL mechanics. And although only few bosses have "mechanics", the rest are just "random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ go" with HP scaling to the moon.
Jogabilidade excelente, roda super bem e loco de bonito. 10/10
