Mediocre game at best. The controls and interface were all wonky, the art style is pretty weak, and game play consists of trying to survive the boredom of a clicker disguised as a strategy game. Maybe it's just me but I had a really hard time trying to enjoy this one.
Strategy game for chumps. Plan moves of your planes and try to outsmart opponent or just keep tailing each other and waste time. Literally example of bad strategy. Not enough variety and overall better to play some decent strategy or just flight sim.
this game is so good it wont close

I found this game while feeling nostalgic and looking for the old turn-based Battle of Britain game that I used to play. Thought maybe someone might have recreated it by now....turns out no, but anyway.... So, before writing this, I read some of the other reviews. I don't disagree with all the negative ones, but I'm still going to give it the thumbs up. Here's why.... One review said the game doesn't close....I get that problem too....nothing the old ctrl-alt-del doesn't fix. Another review said squadrons will keep flying and run out of fuel and die....I've had that too. You think you told them to go land, and they just keep flying on overhead, this happened often enough that I figured out why...I was in a hurry and didn't centre the mouse on the airfield, and see that little circle snap to. So, problem solved. I just pay attention, and use the pause button when things get hectic. Someone else says the devs have abandoned the project with no updates for years - also true. I say, so what? The game works. It would be nice to add some more features, but, it's not broken, so.... Yeah, I wish I could form a 'big wing' and have two or more of my squadrons join the fight at the same time, but as soon as you accept that isn't happening, and you just have to be more careful in combat against 16 escorts and 16 Heinkels, or 27 stukas with escort, it becomes more of a challenge. And it is a challenge. Well, at least until you get past Day 5 or 6. Up to that point, you've got between 1 and 3 squadrons, maybe two airfields, one radar, and one or anti-aircraft gun. If you do well in those first few days, it's like the AI gets cranky and wants to teach you a lesson, and just sends way more than you can handle safely. Once you make it past that point, it's just a matter of building up your squadrons and managing the combat. I use pause a lot to give me time to push the bail out button. They won't bail out automatically. I had to restart the campaign MANY times to get where I am now, which is around Day 28 of the 50 Day campaign. I have AA guns and radar lining my entire coast, and about 30 squadrons - oh, those airfields that hold 3 squadrons, you'll want those for sure, but not straight away. So, yeah, I would recommend the game. It is what it says it is, it's not perfect, but nothing so bad that is a game-killer, in my opinion, which is contrary to what others have said. I rather enjoy blowing Jerry out of the sky. Oh, free tip - he will switch to bombing your cities. You should probably not let him get too close those.
Boring and charmless
I really don't know who this game is for. I have played Real Time Strategy games, Grand Strategy games, and Sid Meier's aces and enjoyed them all but I can't find anything to enjoy in this title. It isn't deep enough or realistic enough to be interesting and isn't fun either. I haven't been this at a loss for why a game exists since playing a cell-phone clicker game. I would love to play a good strategy game about commanding the RAF during the Battle of Britain but this ain't it.
Absolute garbage
It has a very good tutorial.

This game is Under rated.
You are an in charge of the RAF in the battle of Britain. Very fun and relaxing game play you can build airfields, Artillery, factories, radar and place them. It has a feature which allows you to (Auto Resolve) which let's the game decide you're fate OR play the entire scenario which I did and only ran the auto simulation once where I lost. There is the strategic and tactical game play and both are a challenge. Also there is a high amount of micromanaging on the tactical game play. You control 8 fighters at one time and it get's a little frustrating but it's overall a great game and I would recommend it to the people who like a challenge. One feature I really like is you can pause the combat which gives you like a second chance especially when you're trying to have the crew and pilots parachuting you only have a second or two to complete it before the airplane is destroyed so you have to be quick. The game isn't perfect and can be frustrating at times but overall it's a great game to play, Highly recommended.
I don't understand why this game has mixed reviews. I love this game. Sure the game can get repetitive but I have 41 hours in it so I'd say for $5-$10 that's a great deal. If the game is too hard you need to do hit a run tactics. How to overcome the difficulty 1. Attack large squadron with your squadron 2. Destroy half the squadron. 3. Retreat your planes to the edge of the map until the option to retreat appears. 4. After you retreat send in a second squadron to finish the job. Don't forget to manually bail out your pilots over land battle to save them. You should also create an airfield that just trains pilots. TLRD: The game is great but due to an unexplained learning curve many players have given up on the game thinking it's too hard.
