Personally: the game runs well enough and i enjoy the QOL changes (mostly the leveling system) I can't recommend this game on the sheer principle it hasn't received ANY updates in well over a year. Maybe, just maybe, the Switch 2 release will give us something but until we receive some form of optimization / bug patches it will be a do not buy.
paying full price for a game you played 20 years ago but this time with a URINE filter.
Well over a year since launch, and still lagging and stuttering. We need official updates, not mods to fix the game.
Crashes and poor performance. An abandoned game after two updates. The content is Oblivion, which is amazing, but that's not enough. 06 Original is fine
Tried to enjoy the game but crashed too many times.
I consider this my "Clean" Oblivion, untouched by mods because we all know that mod support will never, EVER come. This game has not convinced me to abandon the OG, which has nearly 20 years of modding excellence behind it. The old tricks won't work with this one, for better or for worse. I bought my computer in 2025 before the AI craze hit the market, and so I haven't had problems with performance (I told the store I wanted this computer specifically to run this game, so that had a part in it). But a reminder that part of the Oblivion experience is the frequent crashing, and WELLLLL... So yeah, expect a prettier, unmoddable Oblivion with a few tweaks.
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND WAIT FOR SKYBLIVION! It will be way cheaper and way better than this piece of **** game I did enjoy my playthroughs and I won't deny it looks way better graphics wise. However to take the money and run away after 2 updates while leaving in game breaking bugs and tons of performance issues is just inexcusable. Especially from a large developer like Bethesda. It makes me shudder about the state they are going to launch Elder Scrolls 6. Once again Bethesda have left modders to do their job to try and save/patch up their game after they **** it up AGAIN!
