Mick Carter's been drifting a while now- moving from job to job, never staying one place long. Jumping a box-car to his old home town, he witnesses a violent murder, is pursued by hi-tech soldiers, thrown in a reservoir and drowned.
And that's just the start of Mick's problems.
His consciousness ripped away, thrust back into his own body seconds before his death...
Framed for the killing he witnessed, tormented by his own past, and haunted by the feeling that something followed him back from the other side...
Follow Mick as he's sucked headfirst into a lunatic web of shadowy corporations, murder, and the thousand-year obsession of a madman.
The Drifter is our take on a classic 2d point and click adventure, with the brake-lines cut. The focus is on fast-paced storytelling, with puzzle-solving being the glue that ties it together. Mick's a practical guy, and so puzzles are down-to-earth too, designed to be unobtrusive, and give an investigative feel.
We're keeping the pacing quick and lean, you'll never be wandering around lost or confused- Mick is propelled through the story at a good clip, from one situation to another, with barely a moment to catch his breath. One minute you'll be crafting a Molotov cocktail from a bottle of over-proof rum, the next interrogating a crooked neurosurgeon before swinging from a high-rise window by a fraying extension lead.

FIND OUT THINGS FOR YOURSELF AND YOU WILL FEEL INCREDIBLY REWARDED) Let me get this out of the way first: THIS GAME IS PHENOMINAL. it had me guessing every step of the way, looking for clues as to who everyone was, what they were doing and if they were lying. Carter is a phenomnial protagonist who is redeemable despite his flaws. everyone is likable too, the DA has to be my favourite and his voice actor totally kills it with every line he's given. its got some amazing game design too, breaking away from the that horrid pit every adventure game falls in where its just "click everything until it does something" i was blown away by how it kept hitting the home runs again and again and AGAIN! i will humbly wait to see more from this studio, they have earned a colossal amount of respect from me. if anyone from the studio is reading this, be it programmers or voice actors...ROCK ON!

Absolutely fantastic game, loved the story and was such a fun and captivating ride that kept me hooked the whole way, these types of games deserved to be talk about more.
An excellent point and click adventure! Very compelling story, good voice acting, very reasonable and logical puzzles and great pixel art. Highly recommended. Took me about 7 hours to complete and I paid about 20 bucks CAD for it. Well worth the price for an engaging and entertaining experience.
Das Spiel und die Story sind an sich gut, aber es sind einfach viel zu viele Quicktime Events, die es zu bestehen gilt. Ständig stirbt man und muss von vorne anfangen. Es sollte in der Spielbeschreibung etwas mehr hervorgehoben werden, dass ein nicht unerheblicher Teil des Spiels darin besteht, in der richtigen Reihenfolge bestimmte Handlungen vorzunehmen, bevor ein Timer abläuft.

Je n'avais pas fait de point and click depuis très longtemps et celui-ci a été une excellente découverte. J'ai toujours eu un petit faible pour les jeux pixel art et celui ci a comblé toutes mes attentes graphiques. Je ne savais pas à quoi m'attendre au début puis plus je suis avancée dans l'histoire plus les choses se sont emboîtées petit à petit. J'ai passé un très bon moment sur The Drifter et le recommande! As the protagonist Mick Carter, I was also able to drift when I was playing this game. Yes, this game made me drift back to my childhood. Back then, without the internet, my only hope was to bang my head to try to finish the LucasArts games I had. True, this game doesn't bring back the frustration of getting stuck at one specific point, which I believe wouldn't exist anyway if the game were made today. However, the story is very good, and I admire how this game can get very dark in a split second. Highly recommended for anyone who loves old school point and click games.
Halleluja ist das ein cooles, erwachsenes Spiel! Das Storytelling ist grandios und insgesamt ist The Drifter ein Grindhouse-Horror-Pulp-Streifen vom Feinsten. (Das Spiel ist deswegen ab 12, weil die Gewalt so pixelig dargestellt ist... Den Stil muss man natürlich mögen. Ich mags!) Auf jeden Fall ist das kein Spiel, das man so wegspielt und wieder vergisst. Dringende Empfehlung!
As a lifelong fan of point & click adventures, I can quite confidently claim that this is probably the single best modern game in the genre. The story is phenomenal and the puzzles are challenging without being frustrating. The pixel art, voice acting and soundtrack are all best in class. Combined that makes for the kind of genuinely top tier gaming experience that the genre has not seen since Grim Fandango. A massive thanks to Powerhoof and will be keenly awaiting their next projects.
