It is not a beginner adventure game but atmospheraically dense. While slightly boring at times it is still worth playing and a must for LucasArts fans. It dereives however heavily from the typical humour found in other adventure gemes from this company. The Dig is rather serious and humour mostly on dry-as-a-vodka-martini-side.
Fun and challenging, such a throwback. I really enjoy every playthrough. The story is so good, the puzzles are fun, the dialogue is witty... If you like a retro game, don't sleep on it!

It’s a really good point snd click adventure game. If you like stargate (tv shows) themes you’ll like this as well. Not for patient people. It could really do with à remaster. 3.5 / 5 stars. It’s optimized well. Played on a SteamDeck LCD.
Genuinely one of my favorite of the old point and click adventures. The story is great, the characters are fun, the gameplay is pretty good compared to some of the moon-logic you got from point n clicks in those days. Most of the puzzles are pretty fun to solve, and straightforward enough to actually intuit on your own. The interface has been massively scaled down from some of the earlier SCUMM engine games, there's no 'push/pull/look/speak' actions you need to use on every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pixel, just click on things; it's so much better. The graphics, while dated, still really hold up. The design on this world is still so eery, hauntingly beautiful. It really captures the vibe of a dead world filled with derelict unknowable alien artifacts. The latter half of the game doesn't fully escape the more esoteric moon logic where instead of combining items in logical ways you end up clicking every combination just to see which ones the devs decided would work. Like, why can I jam a plate with a rod, but the 5 colored rods I have don't work, nor do the two scepters, or the tusk that I found? But it's not too egregious. Only time I had to look up solutions is when you're expected to either remote-view an area with an elevator that you already know is an elevator before the character will actually deign to step on it; and a puzzle where suddenly you need to talk to another character to trigger an action instead of interacting directly with the game world like you do the entire rest of the game. But those are small hiccups in an otherwise stellar game. Story is fun and was less well trodden ground when this game originally came out. The ending is sort of interesting, though undercut by a lack of consequences.
Excelente flashback.
A brilliant adventure game. Truly recommended!
