Great game!! /sticker Yes m'Lord
Very atmospheric game. It is best to thing of it a member of the Dead Space family. Not as polished as Dead Space's combat system, but still satisfying. So far, I really like it.
6,5/10
PROTOCOL GOVNISTO.
Bought into this expecting Dead Space and got something that looks incredible but runs very poorly. The good stuff first: this is one of the best looking horror games I've played. The lighting in the prison corridors, the steam, the gore, all of it is genuinely unsettling. Sound design is top tier too. The death animations are so over the top brutal that I kept dying on purpose just to see new ways Jacob gets folded in half. Whoever was in charge of making the protagonist suffer earned their paycheck. Combat gets messy at first. It's a melee dodge system where you hold a direction to weave attacks, and when it clicks it feels great, but early on the close camera meant a lot of my deaths weren't "I got outplayed," they were "I literally could not see the thing hitting me." Two things fixed it for me: turning on hold-one-key dodge in the accessibility settings (massively smoothed out the flow, no shame in it), and I ended up coding my own FOV tool to pull the camera back. Killed the motion sickness and made the whole thing way more readable. Posted a link to it in the community forums if anyone else is getting queasy. Now the real problem: performance. This is the thing that drags the whole experience down. Even now, post-patches, I'd hit frame drops to 30-40 fps in certain areas with my specs. It earned the "Stuttering Protocol" nickname at launch and it still deserves it. If your rig is mid-range, go in expecting rough patches. It's also linear and fairly short, around 10 hours, with basically zero reason to replay. The base game story drip-feeds you and the ending feels abrupt, but the Final Transmission DLC genuinely adds to it and I liked where it landed. Worth playing if the setup grabs you. Verdict: it's not the Dead Space killer everyone was talking about at launch, the combat needs a few tweaks to feel right, and the performance is genuinely a problem even years later. But the atmosphere and presentation carry it hard. If you like survival horror and you're not paying full price, easy yes. Payed $10 total with the DLC, no regrets.
PRISON BREAK: DEAD SPACE
It's not awful. The melee combat is fun at first - and that's just it. Everything is fun at first, and then the game just goes on and on and on with very little change in gameplay or enemies. There are some things that probably should have been picked up if they did some QA (which they obviously did not) like in the very beginning, you check out an area of the ship - your crewmate says come back to the cockpit - so what do you do? Turn around and go back to the cockpit, only you're not supposed to turn around. You're supposed to walk through the fiery area. If they had tested this they'd have blocked the way back but the game lets you walk all the way back the way you came. It's little stuff that shows they didn't test anything. People who are paid to break the game for quality assurance would have picked that up immediately. But you know what? I paid less than 10 bucks for this, so whatever. I'd be ticked off if I paid full price, and so I recommend this only if you get it majorly discounted. It looks great and is fun for a while.
ES UNA FIEL COPIA DE DEAD SPACE TIENE SUS COSAS Y UN JUEGASO SIN DUDAS, ESOS LLORONES QUE NADA LES VIENE BIEN. ES UN MUY BUEN JUEGO. PERO DEAD SPACE ES DEAD SPACE.!!
