The year is 1962 and the Cold War has the nation gripped by fear. A top-secret government unit called The Bureau begins investigating a series of mysterious attacks by an enemy more powerful than communism.

We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

It's not inherently a bad game, and perhaps it even gets a bit better with time, but it is definitely not the XCOM I'm used to. Whether that is a good or bad thing for you depends on whether you prefer an intense tactical game with a lot of customization or a lighter tactical game with shooter cover style mechanics. I appreciate their effort to focus more on a story this time around, which is what I typically find myself drawn to, but stories don't seem to be their strong suit compared to tough as nails combat with high customization present in their other titles. Weird issues like lip sync, awkward animations, overly sterile wile competent voice work, and limited personality for most of the characters from what I experienced. They capture the 1950s very well in many ways, including a character that sounds like a bat Batman and Robin cartoon, but a lot of the adult aspects of the theme feel subdued with this style in my opinion. There is an Alpha Protocol style dialogue wheel, early Bioware games style feels but without the personality and without the depth of nuance of Alpha Protocol, which seems to have little impact other than fleshing out the conversation. Overall, the game just felt sort of generic with little to invest in regarding the characters and the tactical aspect, paired with middling graphics and a slow and awkward combat system that saps the fun away. In the XCOM tactical games, characters are also generally generic, but you get to customize them and use them in a way that makes them feel special, while in this game they are in the periphery doing their thing so I felt sort of detached and disengaged. This is a very middle of the road kind of game, a love or hate it for some, but for most it will just be a "Meh" with a bit of disappointment it wasn't XCOM of the tactical variety.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Certo.
I really thought the chest high wall meta was gone. But no, this together with the cut scenes, would probably have been better off as a movie rather than a game. It is very dull, characters seems interesting though
🎮 The Bureau: XCOM Declassified to Spin-off kultowego XCOM-a – tym razem w formule trzecioosobowej strzelanki taktycznej. Ty, agent Carter, prowadzisz trzyosobowy oddział w konspiracyjnej agencji XCOM. Historia to mieszanka teorii spiskowych, sci-fi klasy B i klimatu retrofuturystycznej Ameryki. Działa, o ile nie spodziewasz się Arrival. 🕹️ Gameplay i Rozgrywka Mechanicznie – przyjemne strzelanie z dodatkiem aktywnej pauzy i zarządzania zespołem. 🎵 Audio i muzyka Zaskakująco dobra muzyka. Pomaga budować klimat niepokoju i tajemnicy. ⚙️ Optymalizacja i technikalia Na Steam Decku działa płynnie – żadnych ścinek, żadnych crashy. Port dopracowany, interfejs czytelny. 🎮🤝 Tryby gry i dodatkowa zawartość Tryb wyłącznie dla jednego gracza. Kampania trwa około 10–12 godzin. Nie za długo, nie za krótko. 🔄 Regrywalność Mało powodów do powrotu. Ocena: (★★★☆☆☆) Dla kogo? Dla ciekawskich, którzy lubią X-Files i lekkie sci-fi z lat 60. https://store.steampowered.com/app/65930/The_Bureau_XCOM_Declassified/#
i like the abbilites you get for the agents a bit challening at times but never a bad thing in my eyes thought it would be like xcom enemy unknown plesently suprised it wasent
I met one of the writers of this game at a festival, and said I quite liked it. "But," he protested, "that's the *bad* XCOM!"

9/10 Definitely worth playing, both for the tactical squad combat and for the theme. If you enjoy the aesthetic of the time period, it's a wonderful tie-in to the XCOM world that I would risk calling a must-try for XCOM fans.
This game has been sitting in my Library for years before I decided to check it out. Now, after completing it for the first time I have to say that it's not a bad game, though I came in without playing any other XCOM games before it. You do the same cover-shooting throughout the entire game, better equipment just make things faster as you're progressing with your journey. The story was intriguing, though I feel like it got cut short by the end.
