I must say, great story, great art, great music, all in a fun game with pretty neat if basic gameplay! Only downside is your constant companion seems... rather pointless in existing, and could be a voiceless thing and not take too much away from the story. (as far as i am)
Truly goated with the sauce Square Enix does not miss
it's great. hope they make more like it
amazing game, looks n plays great
I enjoyed this game a lot. Seeing reviews before I tried the demo, it was being described as Zelda: Link to the Past, one of my all time favorite games, and this game is now right there with that one. There was so much to do and see. I totally suggest this game if LttP is a game anyone has enjoyed. I will say the one issue I had with this game is just how much your companion does like to talk. There is an option to lower this, but talkative she is (I beat the game just days after the update to, I guess, stop her from talking outside of the story?). So just remember, you should really try to use your shield more. It pays off to use it properly. (I fully played the game via my steam deck, docked to my screen, with steam controller.)
I recommend ! If you liked 2D zeldas, you should REALLY try this out (demo is like 3-4 hours of content). I did not know what kind of game it was, except we got octopath traveller visuals, and some 2d action combat; I was not expecting to feel right at home with zelda-like movement and combat, but with smoother, better visuals, and good story. Just try the demo. While it's an enjoyable zelda like experience, and it has a decently complex story (starts simple, but has quite a few twists), it is a game for younger audiences, with how the dialogue is sometimes too cheery or simple. But it still does have some darker tones and themes here and there, it's just a bit clean so not to scar kids. I will say it's a great game for kids for sure - but also for anyone to enjoy, especially zelda fans. The combat is simple, but you get to equip two weapons that you can switch easily, and those weapons are upgradable with gems. Late game combinations are decently diverse and fun - it's awesome to do fast charge-attacks and switch to other weapon. Now, I like the story, but the game definitely has that dialogue catering to the young 10+ audience for the simplicity sometimes, yet it drops some dark ideas sometimes, and i appreciate the themes even though it has to be cleaned up a bit to not scar the younger audience. But I still found it fun. I will just say it's an excellent game for younger audiences. I kept at it more for the nostalgia of the type of game feel, and the story was intriguing. I have no complaints about the protagonist, Elliot, who's a charming and good-natured character, always volunteering his adventurer expertise to make sure people are safe (and you feel powerful playing the game for it, simple in combat as it is, the character type matches the scenario very well, consistently, for the entire game; and i never got bored of Elliot). Gameplay: simple zelda like combat, except it grows more complex with weapon upgrade combinations. Story: pretty good, simple premise at first, then complicated by twists later on in the story. Story has multiple stages, and right when you get to the end game, you realize there's more. I thought i was finishing the game like 3 times, and now i find out there's more story. That's awesome.
The Adventures of Elliot does justice to its obvious inspirations (older Zelda, Mana, Ys games and a bit of Chrono Trigger) and would be an instant classic had it been released 30 years ago. It does not revolutionize anything but the gameplay, especially combat, is satisfying even though exploration grows stale because of the four near identical world maps with fake dungeons all over the place. Lack of difficulty in the puzzle area is a bit disappointing (look to Crosscode for better puzzles) and most of the bosses are utterly non-memorable and will only take 1-3 minutes of total playtime apart from a very few exceptions (look to Hollow Knight for better bosses). I really recommend playing on Hard, even then it still felt the game was not really challenging enough and I never used magic except when mandatory, it really feels it's only there for a Co-Op experience. Overall, it's still an enjoyable game, but you will have to stick with it to the end to experience the full story, which only really starts in the (very) late game (it's a nice little fairy tale, don't quit before the (True) end).
Muy bonito y divertido.
