The core game itself is good, the music is also good. The voice acting is not amazing at all, sometimes it's over and beyond, and sometimes it's like listening to a monotome goat. The combat and visuals are really nice, and for once the collectible in the game is one of the best, ever. Now the downside, the game suffered from microstutters\freezes which was patched not long ago, it still sometimes suffer from FPS drops, as Intel chips are still not optimized. The companion talking nonstop can be ennerving, but also turned off. The price is nuts, it's way overpriced for how many hours it takes to beat the game. I can not recommend the game unless there's a 70% sale on the game.
I've been playing Square Enix games since they were introduced in the US. You are guaranteed a good story. This game plays like Zelda with a lot of the same concepts. For whatever reason these 16bit games are all the rage these days. I liked them when they first came out because it was a step up. For the hefty price tag we should not be paying full price for "retro" graphics and playstyle. If you want a better story, read a book I suppose. It is a linear story and playthrough and there is really nothing that offers replayability after you are done other than if you are one of those people that must do every achievement. I don't "hate" it, but nor will I pay for another 8/16bit game for the price of a much more modern one.
There's seeds of a great game here but in all honesty, it is boring. The story is bland and the adventuring doesn't inspire me to keep going, looking around every corner. Spent over 20 hours in it and don't care to find every single cat to unlock the *true ending*.
boring ass game carter>>>>>.
Well that was excellent, and I generally am not a JRPG enjoyer, but who knew I needed Zelda meets Chronotrigger? Square did.
Very shallow game. I can't believe Square would put their name on this. This is an adventure game like Zelda but the same map x4, with very small changes. Not much variation to the enemies or bosses. Music is mid but not terrible. I feel like this game could have been a solid free mobile game. Absolutely do not spend full price on this garbage.
