Parempi kuin alkuperäinen. Helpommin pelattava ja paremmat puzzlet.
An amazing experience and recreation of the 90's classic Horror Adventure game. It's a true reimagining of the original, allowing you to fully explore the mansion. While I miss minor things such as the hidden rooms, and shortcuts, it's a faithful recreation. The puzzles are much more sensible, with less card/chess puzzles (they are still there, but maybe 1 of each) and more puzzles related to the rooms there in. I do miss the original cake and labyrinth though. The only real issue is the final "Puzzle" of the game isn't really a puzzle and let down the rest of the game in my eyes, since it's more about good RNG than logic.
The puzzles are far too easy. Not much thinking to be done.
07/10 Verpackt in einer Story, hangelt man sich von Rätselspiel zu Rätselspiel. Technisch alles ok.
10/10 Loved the original and this does it justice while keeping it fresh and modern. Bravo- hopefully they'll take on the 11th hour next.
I never played the original so can't compare, but I thought this one was well done. The controls are not designed the best for a mouse and keyboard but usable. The only puzzle I skipped was near the end and purely a memory of past events rather than an actual puzzle. I just wasn't interested in going back to find the answers. Some people complain about the final but I didn't mind it.
It's a parcheesi type game and does have strategy. It's not purely random.
Great revamp of the classic CD Rom game. The storyline has been updated to flow better and you view things pretty much in sequence, unlike the original game. For the most part, (maybe not every one), the puzzles feel more organically placed in the house. It's like Stauf actually built the puzzles into the house design itself. Makes it feel more immersive. Otherwise it's a great tribute to the original, keeps most of the plotlines and makes a bit more sense story-wise. The acting is cheesey fun, like a modern video game would be. All in all I had a great time.
Overall I found it to be a fun game 42/50 coins on a first playthrough. Fun acting and the puzzles are overall fair and still a good headscratcher at times. However the final "puzzle" really annoyed me, and is the only one I auto-solved, full details in the spoiler text below. Being the last bit of the game it means where I was originally thinking "I really enjoyed this game" to "I like the game, ending can go do one though." Hence the negative review, if steam allowed scores I'd probably knock a couple of points off for the ending but still give it a 6 or 7 out of 10.
The final "puzzle" is a board game with dice rolls, so it feels random whether you do well/badly. Also being a boardgame if you lose it starts back at the beginning so each attempt takes longer.
Uit nostalgie en als je graag puzzelt. Het spel is ok maar ook niet meer dan dat. En de puzzels zijn niet echt een grote uitdaging.
This remake was beautiful. the ability to use hints when stuck made the game very accessible.
