Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.75/day in the week to Aug 3 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Mayor May Knott is a “creepy-cozy” 3D adventure game about a shy girl who accidentally becomes mayor of a haunted ghost town.
Initially, May runs in fear from the monsters lurking about! But as she explores the town, solves puzzles, plays minigames, and fixes up houses and buildings, she becomes more confident, overcomes her fears, and discovers that the monsters are actually all very friendly and would love to help May around town!
Eventually, with the help of her newfound friends, May turns the abandoned ghost town into a thriving community, filled with a variety of delightfully creepy creatures.
Repair machines with Grandfather Clock, the clockwork retired rapper. Join Reel McKoi in fishing junk out of the polluted lake. Get your fortune read by the mysterious, sandwich-headed Madame Pastrami. And get insulted by Dick Tater, tyrannical owner of Glitzberg, the seedy apartment complex next door.
And that's just in the first 5 minutes!
Throughout the game, you'll find "records" to play on the Edjukebox in the Hall of Records. Those records teach you new recipes by playing original, professionally-produced songs spanning a huge range of genres -- from rap to rock, country to punk, girl-band to boy-band, and beyond!
Early in the game, May finds and fixes up a device for talking to ghosts. An “Ectophone” if you will. With the Ectophone, May can talk to the many ghosts haunting the houses around town, and try to help them remember their names.
Once May knows a ghost’s name, she can find their “record” in the Hall of Records, a combination record store and city archives. The Hall of Records is also home to the “Edjukebox”, a machine used to play the original, professionally-produced song on each record!
By listening to a new record, May learns a new crafting or cooking recipe! This is called “Edjuke-ation”.
Armed with the recipes from the Edjukebox, May can cook and craft exactly what each ghost needs to move on, leaving behind the key to their house!
The game cycles between day and night, and monsters have their own schedules of things to do. Sometimes the secret to making a new friend is to catch them at the right time, meet them in the right place, or build up the courage to talk to them!
By getting house keys from ghosts, and giving them to the monsters you meet, you can make them permanent residents of your town! Each new resident helps out around the town in some way, and as you add them to your town you gain new options and opportunities to meet new ghosts and monsters, solve puzzles, play minigames, and explore new areas!
Mayor May Knott is brimming with puzzles and minigames, whether it’s a puzzle to deduce the name of a ghost, a quest to find ingredients for a tricky recipe, or a minigame to befriend a new monster.
There’s even a spooky abandoned mine / bowling alley, a haunted mansion full of puzzles, and a creepy endless hallway stalked by a terrifying creature!
As you unlock new areas, repair houses and buildings, and move new residents to your town, you breathe new life into your abandoned ghost town, turning it into a happy thriving community.
Perhaps eventually you can convince all of the monsters to live in your town… even the tyrannical Dick Tater!

Proof that demos work, this game was an example of trying it for free then going on to buy it when I could. Pros: Whilst I did find it frustrating at times, especially with limited walkthroughs available online, the help on discord is second to none - guiding without spoiling unless you're really stuck. The game made me feel smart at some times and dumb at others but it was charming enough to persevere. The in-game hints are neither too vague nor too spoon-fed. The characters are unique, the humour is cheesy in the best way and the music has something for everyone. The art is gorgeous without needing to be super realistic. I loved the way the voices and speech patterns for characters matched their identities such as a radio that has static and interruptions like you're tuning it and a phone that makes line busy noises between dialogue. Yet it wasn't gimmicky either. Cons: My main sort-of criticism is the ending. Though sweet, it was not personally what I was hoping for.
I actually would have liked to eventually gain access to Glitzberg, perhaps in DLC, to help spirits there or unlock shops/new items and characters or something. Though I do understand why it needed to be that way for the story, especially for DT's character arc.
. I also think it was not obvious that characters had preferred houses that may affect progress (mainly one particular record you get from someone) and there was a lot of back and forth, with progress being blocked in some areas until you finished later ones. It is not a particularly linear game in that respect. Overall I enjoyed the game and would definitely replay it after some time away for it to be fresh in my mind (with hopefully less of the frustrations if I at least vaguely remember the puzzles!). I would support DLC or a sequel, too. Perhaps May can go into the forest, or get the train elsewhere, to help some other spirits.

This is definately one of my favorite games of 2026. Totally my vibe, relaxing and cute and puzzly. progression never ends, and you always have some idea what to do. Absolutely amazing.
A delightful creepy and comfy game about rebuilding a town. There's a wonderful sense of progression as you meet the residents, take care of their needs, and watch the town transform as your successes build off of each other. Full of humor and charm, it's criminally underrated.
great town building game and lots characters to make friends with. Also a lot of fun puzzles. decent amount of playtime but i like this game so much i wish there was more to it!
absolutely AMAZING game with a great loop and way more than I was expecting! Probably my favorite game I've played this year.
Just completed this and this game is GREAT! Personally this scratched a gaming itch for me. I love games where you build or restore a town, cozy horror, and games that feel like a living world. This game does all 3 very well, so if you're a fan of all or any of those then definitely give this game a go. Even though I know the answers to all the puzzles now, I can tell this is a game I'll keep coming back to, especially around October.
Incredible character design, catchy songs, and really enjoyable gameplay. Recommended even for those who aren't generally into creepier games, sometimes all you need is a bit of confidence! Loved the feeling of cleaning up, making a difference and building a community.
When Bobson Dugnutt's name appeared, I went "... like the silly baseball guys?" and my joy and incredulity only increased with each subsequent name reveal. 10/10, this game is a lot of fun and has some really nice progression/quality of life systems in place so that waiting for characters and items never gets too tedious. Hard to put the game down if you are a completionist like me.
Great game! Game was recommended to me. There is SO much stuff to do in this game its crazy! I started getting really hooked a few hours in. I look forward to DLC or a part 2 if any! Great job devs!
Oh my stars & garters! I took a chance on this game & was not disappointed. It's like if Termina town from Majora's Mask was a game (with notable differences). The tags that apply the best are exploration & puzzle. The game play works on building up your confidence level so that you can talk to increasingly intimidating monsters. You build up confidence by completing task like fixing up the town or helping NPC's. There are tons of bad puns & there is plenty of parody music. The "Hall of Records" is used to to listen to songs about past residents that reward the player with crafting recipes, used to solve puzzles. Thankfully there is no stamina like a Harvest Moon style game, but what lurks in the dark might limit what you can do at the very beginning. The game is overall pretty chill despite appearances or visual theming. Any complaints I may have had were quality of life things, that were addressed by rewards through game progress. A solid recommendation.
