And yet, I don't even like puzzle games...
Okay, yeah... this one is different. TerraScape, developed by Bitfall Studios, is a turn-based medieval puzzle city-builder where your goal is to build a kingdom on a map made up of hexagonal tiles.
Gameplay
Your main goal in TerraScape is to earn medals by completing the various scenarios and missions. The more points you score, the better your medal will be. But how do you actually get those points? Simple: by placing buildings. You get new buildings by drawing and unlocking cards. Once you reach certain score milestones, you'll draw more cards, giving you more options to expand your kingdom. This means you always have to think carefully about where you place each building. Do you put a house in the middle of the forest for a measly 10 points, or do you place a forester instead and get a whopping 150? The choice is yours. Of course, 150 points alone won't get you very far... and that's where building combinations come in. Place four houses next to each other and you'll create a residential district. Put four foresters together and you'll get a royal forest. And that's only scratching the surface. There are plenty of more complex combinations to discover, and the sheer number of different building combinations you can create is pretty impressive.
Replayability
Besides the classic scenarios, there are also a few other game modes to keep things fresh. There's the classic Endless Mode, of course, where you can keep building for as long as you can survive. On top of that, there are weekly and even monthly challenges, giving you another reason to come back and see how well you can do.
Final words
Overall, TerraScape is a really solid and relaxing little city-builder with a fun puzzle element to it. I genuinely enjoyed being able to sit down for 20 minutes, play through a challenge, and just relax without feeling like I had to commit to a long gaming session. If you enjoy this kind of relaxed, puzzle-focused building game, I'd definitely recommend giving TerraScape a try. It's just really nice to play when you want something a little more laid-back. For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The tutorial leaves you guessing, which a tutorial should not do. Save that for the main game. Missing lots of labels and UI bits like scrollbars. Will give you tons of cards you don't need and not the ones you need for the active quest. Is there only a limited number of each card? No idea, since the UI has no such indication. Hopefully these design decisions can be fixed and I can give a thumbs up in the future.
Phenomenal game if you have OCD. Ignore he other people in the reviews, they are literally drooling buffoons. The game is very intuitive and straight forward, it allows for a lot of flexibility and planning. The game has many game modes to suit your style of play, a "campaign" that gives you quests that chain. Scenario which is just, get the score before you run out of points or land. Puzzle, where you put your brain to the test to complete a challenge with prepared cards and a special map. If none of that appeals there is a map editor and a creative mode so you can just enjoy yourself with fairly low stakes. The new Egypt DLC is amazing, I love it more than the base game, something about upgrading things just felt more satisfying than just merging everything. But it's a ton of fun in it's own right. Games great but I do understand why some people would find it boring. But again if you got OCD and you love things that can satisfy that this game is for you and I can't recommend it enough.
一个建筑游戏,限制这个又限制那个,你不让我建房子建爽,那我也只好给你个差评。
it reminds me of Dorfromantik but instead of placing single tiles that only care about direct neighbors you place buildings that care about their surroundings. there are sets of buildings that you choose from (the game calls these decks) which you merge to alter the surrounding area and give you more options artstyle looks great and you unlock more visual variants of the buildings and resources as you progress in the game
This is a really fun little puzzle/town builder. Simple, easy to learn and fun. The art style is bright and delightful. Though a larger map can cause the game to become a bit drawn out and repetitive, the scenarios are fun, brief and let you explore the various elements of the game. A few more building combinations would be great but what is here now can, when the cards finally fall for you, cause great groans of satisfaction as the buildings upgrade.
Chill puzzle game. I returned after this sat in my library for a year+. All my previous progress was lost. Lost a save from today, terrible UI. Needs improvement before I can recommend
This is actually a very interesting evolution on relaxing city-builders. There's a strange balance between the simplicity of the game mechanic and the complexity of various possibilities. The core mechanic is similar to hexagonal tile settlers, like Dorfromantic, where you get randomized cards and play the cards to add structures to various available tiles. But Terrascape goes even further, both in terms of giving you a wider range of choices in what kind of card subsets your random cards come from, and also what happens when you put those structures down. So while it is still relaxing in its own way, it requires you to be a bit more attentive and strategize your gameplay. In case you don't feel like strategizing, scoring is actually easy, you can just casually populate your maps and still finish the scenarios. Of course there are more challenging scenarios and puzzles if strategy is what you're going after. Of course, the game does not provide an extensive explanation of everything, but rather relies on the player to dig around and discover what all is possible, the clues to which is all there in the game UI in front of you. You just have to take the time to tinker around with it and test it out in the games. If you're looking for something that just straight up spoonfeeds everything to you, with you never needing to apply any brains, there are simpler, more passive brainrot games out there for that purpose. This may not be it.
Amazingly relaxing, satisfying, and visually pleasing. For anyone that just want to unwind in the more simpler creative modes or challenge yourself with the puzzle maps, there is something for both camps.
